Publisher's summary

From the author of the million-copy best-selling The Girl with All the Gifts comes an extraordinary new psychological thriller with a twist you won't see coming....

There are two sides to every story....

Liz Kendall wouldn't hurt a fly. Even when times get tough, she's devoted to bringing up her kids in a loving home. But there's another side to Liz, one that's dark and malicious. An alter ego that will do anything to get her way - no matter how extreme. And when this other side of her takes control, the consequences are devastating.

Someone Like Me is the intoxicating new thriller from the phenomenal M. R. Carey. A modern take on the Jekyll and Hyde tale, think Gone Girl meets Stephen King - but you won't have heard anything quite like this before....

Better than the girl with all the gifts.

M R Carey knocks it out of the park with this fantastic new work from the author of 'The girl with all the gifts', this one isbegging to be turned into a film, it really would be fantastic! the narration is excellent, the story well paced and gradually builds to a breathlessly thrilling conclusion. if I had one crtitism, I felt it dwelt a little too much on the anguish and feelings of helplessness of some of the characters, but this didn't spoil the book. I would say even for people who weren't the biggest fan of Carey's breakthrough novel (I wasn't) 'Someone like me' is definitely worth a credit.

Just so awesome and clever

Just read it - its another brilliant approach to dysfunctionality in the area of domestic and emotional violence.

Slow but steady

I enjoyed this book very much. After reading all the comments I was a little bit skeptical, but I must admit that it was a good purchase. It is a slow story, but well written. Also the narrator is good. The only minus perhaps is that there is a lot of 'what', but 'why' is kind of missing.
