Story

Possibly it's not to save a pair of drowning girls, not go 'viral' on social media and certainly not to let the local police take your passport, trapping you on a small 'party' island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. But Steve isn't the average guy, he's ex-military, ex-enforcer and ex-human. He's a one man nanite fuelled nightmare for those that cross the line, and he's decided that its time to clean up his act. He's going to make up for the things he's done, and save 'the little guys'.

Hiral is the Everfail, the weakest person on the flying island of Fallen Reach. He trains harder than any warrior. Studies longer than any scholar. But all his people are born with magic powered by the sun, flowing through tattoos on their bodies. Despite having enormous energy within, Hiral is the only one who can’t channel it; his hard work is worth nothing. Until it isn’t. In a moment of danger, Hiral unlocks an achievement with a special instruction: Access a Dungeon to receive a Class-Specific Reward.

The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Just before my death, though, I was offered a choice: Stay and let my life come to a swift and brutal end, or become the personal assassin of a god in another world. It wasn't a hard decision. But this new world isn’t like the one I left.

To rescue his sister from his uncle's clutches, Conrad must enter the Selection of the Twelve Trades.
Hunter, the deadliest of all the Trades, gains a fresh recruit with Conrad. Now he must endure vigorous training, manipulative peers, and the Gauntlet—a brutal final test that yields riches and status to whichever skyship crew kills the most gorgantauns. Conrad had never known anything existed below the toxic black clouds of the Skylands . . . until now.

What an incredible story!!! I can’t wait to hear more!!!!
This story captivated me from the beginning. I never wanted it to end. I can easily see this in movie theatre’s doing so well because it is so unique and attention grabbing. I really hope this story is continued, I would start listening right as it comes out

Utterly brilliant!
Best book I’ve read in quite a while. Great action, with characters you’ll cheer for. The narration is perfect.

How it kept the reader wanting more
I loved but hated how descriptive the action scenes are. I could feel every hit, stab, fall, etc.

Absolute Masterpiece
Sky's End is the beginning of what will turn out to be an incredible trilogy. Its mix of world building, action, and character development are the perfect ingredients for an amazing story. Conrad is a very interesting character who is battling his mother's more humanism values v.s. his father's more aggressive nature. In addition, his crew mates also have backstories that help really lift the story and make the reader root for their success. I'm absolutely stoked to see where the story goes when Among Serpents comes out next year!

Rise!
It’s been a long time since I’ve read something learning to science fiction but I was drawn to this book. It had tragedy, action, betrayal, unlikely friendship, and new dangerous fantasy creatures, it was a great read and I think older kids would enjoy this book series. No worries about inappropriate adult situations. A few cuss words are thrown around but no F bombs.

AHHH IT WAS SO GOOD
The characters are so dynamic! They make the story feel like it could be a real thing happening somewhere, that all of these people are struggling with their own internal conflicts.
I feel like this book had 4 separate climaxes and each one somehow managed to top the one before it!
This book is amazing and I cannot wait to read more in this series.

I almost never read YA or fantasy, and I loved this book. I can’t wait to continue reading the series. Marc Gregson is a great writer!

Loved it!
I purchased this because I saw the author’s video where he is with his students and the cover is revealed. His story was so emotional and inspiring and because he was a teacher and we know what real life hero’s they already are I thought I’ll get the book to support him. I’m a 65 year old woman and while I’d been into Harry Potter and Hunger Games and yes even Twilight when each of my children went through those fazes I never expected to be so into this type of fantasy book again. The writing is eloquent, the story and characters are so alive and the narrator made it so real I found myself often responding back with an “oh no!” out loud. I can’t wait for the rest of the series and in the meantime I’m going to buy several hardcover books, one to keep and the rest to give to my grown children and my granddaughter.
