Sometimes I wrestle my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle.—Bumper Sticker
Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow—but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She's a paranormal private eye and grim reaper-in-training who's known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he's dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes' childhood happens to land into her lap, she can't help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins. First, Charley finds a naked corpse riding shotgun in her car. Then, a man loses his soul in a card game. Throw in a Deaf boy who sees dead people, a woman running from mobsters, and a very suspicious Reyes, and things can't get any worse for Charley. Unless, of course, the Twelve Beasts of Hell are unleashed…
Sixth Grave on the Edge is the sixth Charley Davidson novel from bestselling author Darynda Jones

Genre: Paranormal mystery/ romance
I haven't heard anything narrated by Lorelie King except for this series, but I am enjoying this performance . She has great range, and she doesn't have any vocal idiosyncrasies that interfere with listening pleasure.
This story is told in first person singular from the point of view of the heroine. And it stays in that point of view. The thoughts and feelings of characters other than Charley are shown through action and dialogue. I love it when an author does that. It's very strong writing.
Darynda Jones gives us the usual ensemble cast of characters, with the addition of The Dealer. I don't know if he will continue with the story, but I think so. And, as with other books in the series, Charley has more than one issue at a time, spreading them over several interrelated plots. My biggest concern with this series is that the number of characters and plots may water it down.
The dialogue is snappy and witty. Some people may find Charley's ADD delivery a bit over the top, but you get used to it. I definitely had a few giggles from what the characters said, as well as the situations.
A very good addition to the series. And yes, there is a cliff-hanger, so I hope Darynda Jones ditches the YA series and concentrates on this one. I don't want to wait a year for the next one!
Funny and entertaining
