life changing, relatable, the Bible for the black woman.. I never wanted the book to end. this is a great book for anyone wanting to understand the construction of self and identity of the black woman. this book makes for a wonderful gift.

This book was recommended to me, as I am on a journey of healing. The language was easy to digest and the narration was great! I am going to reread but take notes. This book was so insightful to me as a young black woman navigating life with trauma on her back. The baggage seems lighter now.

A must read that provides so much confirmation about life. Sometimes you wonder if you are experiencing things alone. Then you find out that you are not. It gives peace and hope to know that things are endurable.
