Publisher's summary

Sisters Kitty and Jenny haven’t spoken since a very disappointing Carvery lunch. Kitty, 62, thinks Jenny is turning grey. Jenny, 66, thinks Kitty needs to grow up!

So when both sisters inherit a farmhouse in rural France, it gives them the perfect chance to heal the rift between them. Except the farmhouse is a wreck, the garden is terrorised by a flock of chickens, not to mention a donkey with a serious flatulence problem!

Kitty is determined to enjoy herself, especially when she meets gorgeous French builder Leo. Ooh la-la! And Jenny finds the fully stocked wine cellar helps enormously with missing horrible husband Paul - hic!

And as the two sisters begin to repair their fragile friendship, they discover that being bad is actually very good for the soul.

Critic reviews

"Maddie Please's latest novel Sisters Behaving Badly is a glorious romp that readers will adore. It's a story of quarrelsome siblings, second chances, a fabulous location and growing old disgracefully. Maddie's warmth and humour will put a smile on your face and leave you relishing Kitty and Jenny's hilarious adventures in a French farmhouse." (Judy Leigh, best-selling author)

Perfect

Loved this book, almost didn’t listen based on the other reviews however, it was perfect. Laughed out loud at the very English jokes and sense of humor that I miss growing up in England, I must be getting old. The story was very relatable. The narrator was excellent. Will likely listen to the others by Maddie Please.

Fun and inspiring for the 60’s+

Totally enjoyed this book, even if for me, it was a little sad at a few points but yet inspiring in many ways. Sadly reminded me of two of my siblings. Has a fun side to it, plus was well described of the beautifully landscape France. I enjoyed it also because it relates more to the mature woman and men. Well written, and read. My first time with this author. I’ll be listening or reading more of her books.

This is a first!

No other book has made me long for a cottage in France before! This one ticked all the boxes for me: lovely story with just enough ups and downs and delightfully rich characters. With the audiobook, narrators don’t come better than this one! Very nicely done. I dreaded the end of this book, as it meant my visit was over. I do wish for more!

Older women can find their sole mates too!

This story gives me hope! I’m not moving to France to renovate a house my aunt left me, but this story does give this 60 year old lady hope that I will find love again someday! I wish there were more stories like this one!

An enjoyable read for a woman in her 60s

An enjoyable read for a woman in her 60s. Excellently narrated. It was a pleasant change of pace to have a story with my peers as the main characters. And hearing the descriptions of French country living was like being transported there.
