Unexpectedly Good

I loved the narration and the story. I didn't like how you had to wait until almost the very end of the story to get the spice.

This book was both captivating and terrifying. I absolutely loved this book! The narrators were great and made the story come to life.

A Nice little read….

This story was pretty nice, solid premise and progression. I would’ve loved for the confession aspect to be more explored though 🤭

Angelo Visconti… yes Daddy!!!

This book is one of my favorites!! Somme Sketcher is a wonderful writer!!. Main fmc is forced to marry Gross Alberto!!! 🤢 But when his nephew Angelo comes back to his hometown for a scheduled “brief” visit, everything changes. 🩷 This mafia romance is 10/10. The following book in this series is just as good.

Loved the story

This was a really good story. Were the bird puns annoying sure but they were also cute. Also definitely a slow burn but the spicy parts were spicy. 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️

Sinners Anonymous was a ride—and not the high-speed, bullet-ridden kind I expected from a mafia romance. It was more like… sitting in a fancy town car, wondering if the GPS is broken, and then realizing it was all part of the (very slow) plan.

Let’s start with Rory. Our sweet, bird-pun-loving, goth barista heroine. She thinks she’s the villain in her own story, but let’s be honest—her “dark side” is more of a dimmer switch. I appreciated her love for her father and how that influenced her choices, but some of those choices? Questionable. (Girl, why did we flee school instead of turning in the would-be attackers?!) Also, she’s 21 but felt more like 17 with the way she tiptoes through the underworld like she’s never crossed a city street alone.

Now enter Angelo. Capo’s son turned rich businessman turned Capo again because… vengeance. And let me tell you, I was here for it. He’s suave, smart, a little scary, and somehow a golden retriever wrapped in a three-piece suit. For a man who used to chew women up and spit them out (metaphorically… I think), he shows an absurd level of restraint when it comes to Rory. He’s 15 years her senior, which made their dynamic a little eyebrow-raising at times, but the man’s patience could win awards.

Let’s not forget his brothers and their morbid “game” to stay connected (low-key loved that detail), and his small-town kingpin vibes. Revenge arc? ✔️
Respectful king? ✔️
Dark romance anti-hero? Eh… more like dark-adjacent.

Because here’s the thing—it wasn’t that dark. I came for morally gray chaos, and what I got was a slow-burn with the emphasis on slow. Like, 90%-into-the-book slow. By the time anything spicy happened, I was checking my Kindle battery more than the plot tension.

BUT I’m intrigued. The bones are good. The setup is solid. The family drama is juicy. I’m definitely in for more sinners—and praying they sin a little sooner in the next one.

Obsessed isn’t enough of an explanation

Absolute perfection. The way i gasped out loud during multiple parts of this story is insane. I’m excited for the rest of the series.

The fųĉƙinĝ bird puns

I loved this book...until I didn't. I still have an hour and 44 minutes left and I need a break. At first her bird thing was kinda cute but she 100% lost me when he tells her about his mother and she STILL says "oh my goose." It completely threw off the seriousness of the moment. The beginning started out so strong, I was dying to know her big sins and what she said on the hotline. When she starts telling Angelo her "sins" I thinking ok she's just messing with him and he'll find out the "big ones" soon. After all she "does bad things". I don't know the last time I was this disappointed. Now maybe it's because I haven't finished it yet and I just haven't gotten to some big revaltion, but I don't see it. Hence me taking a break from it to go back later and finish it. Review will be updated once I comp completed if
