Publisher's Summary

I won’t let anything happen to you.

Fourteen years ago, Braxton Kane’s feelings were forbidden.

As an officer, he couldn’t fall for an enlisted…no matter how much he longed for Holt Madigan.

Now — as a police chief in love with a digital assassin — his promise to always protect Holt is becoming harder to keep.

I’ll protect you.

Holt doesn’t understand why his best friend has been pushing him away for months.

But when Brax’s life and career are threatened, Holt refuses to allow the distance any longer.

The Madigans protect their own, and Brax is family, whether he believes it or not.

I won’t let anything happen to you either.

Forced together, Holt realizes his feelings for his best friend have changed. His desire to explore the promise their single night together held is undeniable. His resolve to protect the man who has always protected him is unshakable. But if Holt wants a future with Brax, he’ll have to search and destroy the person who attacked him — before Brax activates the kill switch and sacrifices himself.

Love and devotion. Friendship and trust. Family. It all comes down to this. Holt and Kane, together at last, in the final book of the Fog City romantic suspense series.

By far my favourite in the series!

I absolutely loved this book! I’ve been hanging out for for Holt and Brax’s story as these are my two favourite characters. Plus I’m a sucker for best friend to lovers stories! I loved how the story took you back to when they first met in the army and told their story from there to present day. Their back story was beautiful and tender and loving. For me these are the only two of the main characters we’ve met that don’t have prickly hard edges and maybe that’s why I related to them more. I really enjoyed their story and want more Holt and Brax!!

I loved Christian Leatherman’s narration, he put great emotion into it and brought the story alive. He’s head and shoulders the best narrator in this series.

I received an arc of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review

Compelling and intense!!!

This was so angsty that I was vibrating with anticipation, then when Brax went to SF and secrets opened up a can of worms my stomach dropped to my feet!!! I was heartsick at the revelations!!! No lack of danger and drama here. An emotional journey, and now I'm a melting piece of goo!!!!!. I enjoyed seeing Holt's strength and growth in the end. My mind is still buzzing with all the excitement. ALL THE STARS!!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters and story to life. What an experience!!!

Great StoryGreat Story

This is the fifth book in The Fog City Series. Please read the books in order to obtain the fullest enjoyment from this book. Fantastic story the writing was great. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were developed and thought out. Braxton and Holt are the MCs of this book. The narration was good while the narrators voice wasn’t my preference, he did a good job. It wasn’t monotone and he did a good attempt at different voices. I can recommend it as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Epic conclusion to the Fog City series

This was the final story in the Fog City series. We finally got the back story of Brax and Holt. The story was pretty angsty, but seriously fantastic. I really liked how the started as friends and their love grew from there. Christian Leatherman was a new to me narrator, he did a really great job. The voices were distinct, clear and concise.

EPIC LOVE STORY!

SO WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Silent Knight is the epic love story of Brax and Holt. Fourteen years in the making but they finally achieve the most satisfying HEA.
I loved everything about this story. From all the past history of their relationship to the current state of affairs.
This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster that is well worth the ride. My heart ached for Brax as he gives his all to be what Holt needs. When the time and circumstances allows Holt to take what has been right there all along it is perfection!
These two complete each other in ways that can't be described. They truly love each other unconditionally.
My heart melted every time Lily called for her Ba-Ba! Finally they are all right where they were meant to be.
With the hint of a spinoff I am one happy reader to know we will get more from this amazing series!
Christian Leatherman does an outstanding job of bringing this story to life! It was truly a pleasure to listen to this book.

What will you do for those you love?

What can you say about this book in the series that hasn't been said about every other book - stunning, characters that are rich, deep and complicated and a plot that swallows you up and won't let you go until you've finished the book. Brax and Holt are two of my favourites. This story is about sacrifice. What do you owe to those you love, when is it noble to sacrifice and when should you fight and ultimately, what price is love worth? Big questions, perfectly handled in both the story and the performance by Christian Leatherman. Emotionally right on point and never over the top.

Amazing listen!

This story is an amazing listen! I absolutely love Holt and Brax's story! This is final book of this series and I couldn't get enough of it. This slow burn is full of action and suspense and just so much feeling. I know before reading and now listening that these two will break me but I absolutely love it so much. Christian Leatherman does an amazing job with this narration. He definitely brings the emotions to this story. Such an amazing listen!

what a roller coaster!!

first would like to mention that i got a free code. and tha k you for that, not sure i would pick it up otherwise but am very happy for that.
I havent listened to other books in the series so i didnt had a context for the background of the story.

at first i was a bit lost with the story but i will have to be honest the thing that cought my attention was the jewish reference and Hannukah. i never heard a story that mentioned other holidays then the regular Christmas/Thanksgiving so it was very refreshing (that, and me being jewish and currently celebrating Hannukah lol). i loved those details.

other then that the story between Holt and Brax is amazing. full of love and friendship. it is a slow burn type of relationship and take a few years to build up. there were maybe 2 or 3 sex scenes but oh boy they were hot 🔥 🥵 i would love more lol

the action story that progress keeps you on your toe and if this was a movie i would definitely enjoy it.

The narrator is new to me and i enjoyed it and thought it was very good.

overall totally recommend and think it worth a credit!!

Angsty but wonderful surprise !

I did not know what to expect since both Layla Retne and Christian Leatherman were new to me and they blew my mind. The plot, characters, the secrets and all the twists and windings of fate that finally brought this passionate couple together were all so well written, i could not stop listening. Christian captured the essence of the characters perfectly, made me feel every nuance of their love, struggle and passion. Well done 👍🏻

Took A Long Time Getting There.

MM, Contemporary, Best Friends to Lovers, Suspense, Romance. Not a stand-alone listen as part of a complex series, this is the final book in the series lots of information given, and non stop action throughout. It's taken them fourteen years to get to this point in their relationship, but finally they both seem to be ready, willing and able to finally sort their relationship out...they just need to deal with whoever is out to cause trouble first.

Brilliant

I have waited patiently for this book and for these two characters to get their act together, I have been rewarded with this deliciously wonderful book, so to have Christian Leatherman bring the story to was brilliant. It should also come with a warning label about not starting to read it late in the evening, as with others in this series, this book is next to impossible to stop listening to once you start.

Right from the first book there has been a connection between chief of police Bracks and the loyal Holt Madigan. Their relationship changes, ages and grows in this steamy emotion filled book. This book is a fitting end to this truly fabulous series.

Fantastic ending to the series

I enjoyed this book. I’ve only read book 4 in the series, and I can say confidently that you can jump in at any point. I plan to go back to the other books. This one centers around Holt Madigan, even though we don’t get his point of view until many chapters into the book. But the series is about the Madigans – who routinely assassinate rivals. Anti-heroes who somehow come off as heroic.

The book begins with Braxton Kane, an officer in the army. He’s in a war-torn country and tasked with keeping his men alive. He meets Holt, and his whole world changes. He’s not just attracted to the man – all fresh-faced and innocent. He’s protective. He places himself in danger to protect Holt. It solidifies their friendship. Only years later does Holt find his feelings towards Brax deepening. They get one night, and Brax is back being a soldier and Holt moves on with his life.

But their paths keep crossing and eventually they’re both in the same city and both single.

And still they can’t get their shit together.

I wanted them to wind up together. But it’s not easy. Brax is now in law enforcement, and Holt’s family is definitely not on the right side of the law. So how can they make it work? Well, you’ll just have to listen and find out. Speaking of listening, Christian Leatherman narrated the book and I have to say I enjoyed his performance. I’m off to check out the first books in the series.

Love This!

Brax and Holt's story is my favourite in the series, not just because it's the conclusion so everything we've heard so far in the previous books has been leading up to nicely warpping up the plot, but because of the kind of romance we've got going on here. These guys have the sweetest, slow burn going on that spans over a decade and it's just perfect to me.

The whole thing has been lovingly brought to life with Christian Leatherman's narration...a great listen. Do make sure you've read/listened to all of the other books in the series - this is not a standalone. 5*

Captivating!

I loved the ebook version of this audiobook and I considered it the perfect final for this series. Braxton and Holt's story is about friendship and how can lead to true love. Also, the story is about family, honor, integrity and good versus evil, even if good and evil are not as we expected them. In this audio version, Mr Leatherman captured beautifully the escence of the complex plot and the amazing characters and brought to life, with his wonderful talent and smooth voice, one of the best books in the series. I loved it so much!

Fantastic end

I really loved this story. It was the perfect end to a wonderful series, filled with mystery, suspense, betrayal, corruption, trust, and love.

Holt's story was amazing. I loved how the pieces of him from other books clicked into place and how he and Brax spent so many years apart, but found each other in the end.

New to me narrator got it all right!

If you haven't read/listened to this series, you should. It's fantastic!

Saved The Best For Last

Silent Night is the last book in A Fog City Novel Series and I recommend you read/listen to the entire series to be able to enjoy this at its best, as there is a lot to remember about the Madigan family, their complex stories of love, honour and good versus bad.
Holt and Brax’s love is so pure and enduring, 14 years in the making, they are my favourite couple of the series and the first third of the book was just so intense. I think Ms Reyne captured their situation perfectly and it broke my heart.
Christian Leatherman did an exceptional job narrating and I hope to hear more from him in this genre.

Beautiful audible version

If you want a series to get your teeth into, this is the one. This final book is a fast paced addition, with top notch writing and more larger than life characters. I'd waited a while for Holt and Brax's story, and I was not disappointed. Their story was everything I'd hoped for and more.

It rounded up the whole Fog City series which, at its heart, has been about relationships and connections all beautifully wrapped up in a tense thriller. The story continuity worked really well too, and one of the strengths of the book for me, was all the characters from Ms Reyne's past books making an appearance, and making a difference to the plot.

I love an audio book that can capture both the action and the emotion of the characters, and the writing in this one succeeds brilliantly. I've loved Holt throughout the series, and by the end of his story, I loved him more. He has so many layers, to his character, the way they were peeled away and revealed was masterful. And Brax, well, he's just dreamy throughout. The pair really are a match made in heaven.

A great listen, very good narration, Christian Leatherman is first class. Hoping it's not the last we've seen of this lot, thankfully the story seemed to leave things open for further adventures.
