Great Listen

Let me preface this review by saying that I don't often listen to audiobooks, but this one truly impressed and captivated me. From the moment I hit play, I was drawn into a world of intrigue and suspense. The masterful storytelling skillfully wove together complex characters and a gripping plot. The narrator's voice enhanced the overall experience.

The intricate yet uplifting web of revelations had me guessing until the end. Being a fan of The Walking Dead early seasons (I gave up when it started to get too dark), this listen brought back why I love that genre and still gave me plenty of positive spins and hope.

The main character Ben is relatable and a man with strong moral fiber who cautiously has not lost his humanity. Add in a plethora of characters, from the upbeat to the seasoned survivalist, and I just kept hitting that play button.
While I usually prefer the tactile experience of holding a physical book, this audio adaptation truly won me over. The production quality was good, and the narrator engaging.

I recommend giving this one a chance. You won't be disappointed by this series of novellas – and I can't wait to listen to more in the near future.

Zombies? Zombies! yes there are zombies, but!

I am not normally a zombie-story reader, but i've read some of Justin Leslie's work and enjoyed it that when he offered a code for the book i jumped on it.

i was NOT disappointed,
Ben has been, in one way or another sticking his head underground for a good while.
Yes - He is well prepared and equipped but going out he finds out not everything goes according to the plan.

i kept staying the car listening for good while after i reached my destination just to get a bit more

Totally enjoying this series. Yes, it's about zombies, but I love the author's spin on how it all came about. His characters are fun and very well written. Looking forward to the next in line!

This boxset is worht the listen!

It was great to listen to the first three novellas all at once. The world building is methodical and quite suspenseful at times. Just coming through a pandemic and various vaccination mandates, make you wonder could they lead to the zombie apocalypse!? I'm loving the band of misfits that are gathering to depend what they cherish the most.. friends, love ones, and some luxuries (that survived the collapse of the world). I'm looking forward to exploring this world further in Leslie's upcoming novels.

Jarret Lemaster does an excellent job narrating the series.

This is a fantastic series!

The Sinking Man series definitely isn't the kind of book I would normally pick up to read or listen to. But a few factors found me listening to this audiobook. First, a book friend highly recommended this story, second, the author is attending Coastal Magic Convention in February 2024 and I will be there, too, and third, the author offered a free audio code for this boxed set.

The voice actor performing this book was fantastic and the stories also compelled me to keep listening. While this isn't a romance in the strictest sense of the word, it is about a married couple separated from each other when the unthinkable happens and a virus is causing people to turn into zombies.

This series isn't complete yet and there is a cliffhanger of a sort at the end. It left me wanting to listen to more of these books and I have no doubt that I will continue at some point.
