Disappointed

I love this book and was so excited it was finally available. Then was shocked by the performance I’ve spent a lot of time backing up because I can’t understand what is being said. You killed this book it’s definitely cringe worthy. She might do good for other types of stories but not for young characters. It’s like grandma is telling it. 😢 We need a do over. This story, this book deserves a do over!!!

Pronounced incorrectly

Ruark Beauchamp name is said incorrectly. Beauchamp is a French, should not be pronounced Beachum! It should be pronounced Beau-Champ. Ruark is not two syllable, it should just be one syllable sounding more like rook. That's how I always read it.

Don’t agree with comments on narrator.

The narrator does a fine job with the different accents in the story. She does have a deep voice, however, she does not sound like “an old lady,” The story is rich and detailed. I almost didn’t give this book a try based on the narration complaints.

Still my favorite

I read this in the 70’s and loved it so much. Nothing has changed. I still love this story. I wasn’t crazy about narrator rendition. The pronunciations were a little off IMO. Beecham Ugg. I love beau champ pronounced as such. Even Shanna’s name to me should have been pronounced differently. However overall I loved this story.
I have read all of KW books. She started me on my love for historical Romance. Till this day she’s a tough act to follow.

Did not like the narrative. Thanks was supposed to be young and the narrator sounded older. I also didn't like the way Raurk was pronounced with a o sound. I also prefer males do the male parts and females do the female parts. I loved this novel before I bought the audio but it was not the right narrator s for this book.
