Great performance of a great book!
I read the book when it first came out and loved it, so was excited when I saw the audiobook was available! I’ve read and listened to both books in the series so far and this performance does not disappoint! The narrator gets Rose’s sass and spunk down perfectly! She also does a great job at conveying the emotions of more serious scenes.
This book takes a more serious tone than the first as Rose struggles with uncovering more about her magic, as well as what the new connection to the king means for them both. I loved the introduction of Caleb! He must be protected at all costs. I really loved the world building in this book as the author takes us on more of a deep dive on different aspect of the world introduced in the first book, but never in a way that feel like you’re being info dumped on.
I love this series and can’t wait to see what this new author brings to us next!
