A match made in hell?

Devon and Tanner fight like...well, cats and dogs. Which, to be fair, makes sense since hellcats and hellhounds aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, their demons' antipathy towards each other is matched only by the red-hot sexual tension between Tanner and Devon. It's driving them - and their long-suffering friends Harper and Knox - mad.

When Devon is nearly kidnapped, Tanner's protective instincts kick into overdrive - he's sticking by her side, day and night. But staying so close means their hunger can no longer be denied - they know their demons won't accept the match, but after one red-hot night they'll fight to stay together for as long as they can. But shadows are gathering around them - Devon's would-be kidnapper is still on the loose, a serial killer carrying rage from a twisted past threatens the lair - and most of all, Tanner and Devon are losing themselves to the heat between them. When this relationship goes up in flames, it could be a blaze that neither of them can walk away from....

You've got to love a cat/ dog story

Devon and Tanner have been bickering since day one..but what do you expect between a cat and dog? Surely, not an attraction to one another..but that is what comes to light when Devon is targeted and Tanner's protective instincts go haywire. Can they ever get together? Will both of their pasts conspire to keep them apart? Can they survive each other and their demons for a HEA?

You could feel the attraction between Devon and Tanner all along, but to finally see them come together was awesome. You get to learn a lot about Devon's past and complicated relationships with her parents. We also get a look at some of the things happening at the orphanage Tanner and the Sentinels lived in as children. That was a dark part of the story.

Needless to say, the set up for Keenan an Chloe is set..I can't wait to see what Keenan's issue is if he's not an alcoholic..what is his issue..and what is Chloe hiding behind all of her escapades? The next installment will be just as awesome.

Great story..great read..I love the series.

Tanner and Devon get their story

The first books in this series were excellent, and I so hoped she would return to this univers and explore the other characters. You could feel the tension and the thrill building up between the Tanner and Devon, secondary characters in the frist 4 books. You don't have to listen to the first books, but I recommend them. They are really good! Now I am hoping for even more stories from this universe!

Devin & and her hellhound

Perfection. Story & narration. Love this series and this addition to the series exceeded my expectations. I hope Chloe and her mate are hopefully coming up next. Story contained background on Devin that was missing in previous books as well for her hellhound. There were sexy times, lots of exciting battles, mysteries to solve and family mysteries to unravel. Very entertaining. I had to listen to this one twice before I could even think of rating it. It will probably be listened to again tomorrow too. Definitely on my audible favorite listing. No cliffhanger.

Great story and addition to the series :D

4.5-5 stars

This was a great story. I really liked Tanner and Devon and it was cool to see them finally get together.

Devon is a tattoo artist and has a hellcat for a demon. Devon's mother isn't around and her father has another family and has never really been part of her life. Due to this, Devon was raised by her Aunt and Uncle who she thinks of as her parents.

Tanner is a sentinel for his Prime (Knox, the hero from some earlier books in the series) and has a hellhound for a demon. Tanner was orphaned as a child and grew up in an orphanage for demon children that wasn't a good place to grow up. Tanner's only family (adopted) consists of Knox and some of the other sentinels that her grew up with in the orphanage.

The book description gives a pretty good idea of the basics of the story. Devon does get kidnapped and although she's free pretty quickly, there's a threat to her that ensures a constant state of danger and this is what really prompts Tanner to move into a more protective/possessive stance towards Devon. It does take some time for everything between Devon and Tanner to culminate but there's a lot of things going on to keep them busy, not just the threats to Devon but a separate issue involving some murders that tie back to the orphanage Tanner and some others grew up in. Hellhounds and Hellcats normally don't get along but this thing between them has been building for a while so a certain level of respect has built, allowing the demons to accept each other enough that Devon and Tanner can start a relationship.

I found that even though I hadn't been hugely into Devon and Tanner as a possible couple in past books, I loved their interactions once they became the main couple. Devon is a strong woman but she shows a softer side...that she does want a mate and to be special to someone. Of course her need to be special to someone is part of what causes the angst between Tanner and Devon because he's not sure just how much he can give her. But once things get started between them, there's not really any going back, they (mostly Tanner) just have to realize it. Thankfully, all the issues/problems do get worked out/dealt with and the story ends with Devon and Tanner well on their way to a HEA together.

I enjoyed this story greatly. I really liked Devon as a heroine. She is a strong and smart woman and I liked that she's not afraid to push for what she wants. I liked Tanner as well...he did piss me off a little bit in the beginning but once he got past the "month" crap, I liked him more and more. Overall, this was a great story with characters I loved that kept me engaged from beginning to end (I finished it in 1 day) so I'd definitely recommend it. :D

Good continuation for the series

I wouldn’t recommend this book on its own but if you are already in love with the characters, then you should enjoy this next in series book. For my taste there was too much sex but I skipped ahead of most of it & enjoyed the suspense/mystery plot a great deal. Looks like Chloe is next in line for a story, but I’m holding out for Harper’s 2nd friend, Lainey. She so sweet I want to see who she hooks up with.

I’m enjoying this series!

This series definitely has some interesting characters. There are definitely some lol moments and some tearful moments. This story also has two mysteries to solve and some glimpses of the next couple to come.
There are definitely some hot sexual scenes but, this book isn’t quite as hot and heavy as the first couple books, of the series. I’m also glad to state the Susanne Wright limited her, too often used, phase of “As Such”, in this book. I didn’t pull a single hair out.

As always, Cat Doucette does a great job narrating. The only thing I think would make it better would be to add a very masculine male narrator and have them perform true Duet narration. I think that would be the icing on the cake!

Was it worth a credit? If you like this author and have enjoyed the previous books, in this series, then absolutely, YES! However, this isn’t the type of series you can jump in the middle of and understand what’s going on. This is a series best started at the beginning.

OK I really like Suzanne Wright's books and her general style but this serie disappointed me a bit I do enjoy it but the main characters are a bit cliché and unreal to me. The story does not have the same flavour as other works by this author and let's say it is not my favourite flavour but still very enjoyable. In this one though the female character was to me more of a strong female character than Harper so yeah!

Tanner and Devon

Book was good, but not great.
Like the match of Tanner and Devon, but story not much different than Knox and Harper. Not as good as earlier books. Still enjoyed, and will probably listen
again, and may update my review
