Very uneven quality

Story quality ranges from mediocre to awful. I am a big Jim Butcher fan, but he apparently is a bad editor.

A good book.

Good listen. At least 85 percent of the stories were pretty good and interesting. Two thumbs up.

A collection of SyFi Shorts

Enjoyable syfi short stories from your favorite authors. Easy listening. Its fun to see what wont make a novel but has enough to make a short

Not bad but not what I expected.

I found this book through The Dresden Files. The one story associated with that series was good. The others I listened to were tough to get into without having read their respective series.
Very good narrator.

Skip 'Eye of Newt' :(

I loved the variety of short stories, even though only 1 was from Dresden's world. Molly Carpender goes on her 1st assignment as the Winter Lady. 5-star shortie. I wish Mr Butcher would write more backstories involving Harry's associates, from their point of view. A whole book of a dozen stories like Molly's would be incredible! How's Michael dealing? What goes on inside Mouse's head? What issues has McCoy faced since joining the Senior Council? What's life been like for Harry's daughter since Mexico? Lara Wraith? John Marcone? Oh God, poor Murphy. *Note: Im starting "Skin Game" next, so maybe those ideas are yet to come.
I rarely give negative feedback... but I only made it half-way through "Eye of Newt" before realizing how utterly bored & irritated I was. I listen to all audiobooks 3x before moving on to new books, so I skipped this 2 more times. I suggest u do the same.
