Love and suspense!

Sex & Homicide, the title promises just what it delivers! This second in the series leads us with Nick and Izzy, happily married and enjoy their life without kids. Full of hot, passionate moments, these two scorch the sheets. But is it enough? When life takes a tragic turn and Izzy is hurt badly, times for this couple get rough. Recovering from chemical burns, Izzy has to deal with healing, reliving the scene and her scarring. While trying to get her life back, Nick has to learn to deal with their new normal. Add in Jake and Julia's wedding, the hunt for those that caused Izzy's condition and Nick's mom's new love interest, and we have a lot going on! There is passion, pain, love and hope with a lot of suspense! This is my kind of book and I totally enjoyed it.

Bolton Hill is great with his narration of this book. I love his voice, and his portrayal of Izzy and Nick is spot on. He gives Izzy the emotional feels of all th changes going on in her life, but his best work is with Nick. He is complex and you can feel his anguish and frustration dealing with his life as it turns to hope. Wonderful rendition of the story.

as great as the first book

as interesting and great as the first the narrator was great and the story was wonderful it was very enjoyable and the book made with think a lot it's a great story to listen to

Fantastic continuation of this series.......

Sex & Homicide is the second is this series by Trotter, and, although the author does a good job of introducing some background from book one, I think this second book is best enjoyed as a continuation of the series. Nick and Izzy met and married in the first book, so this book is not about the chase. Rather, it focuses on the growing love between Nick and Izzy until a tragedy threatens the very foundation of their relationship. I found this book a lot sexier but also a lot sadder than the first book. One of the cold cases Nick, a police detective, and his partner have been investigating gets further convoluted and eventually resolved in this book, so there is plenty of action and intrigue. I missed the comedy of the first book, but I must admit that I could practically feel the love and passion between Nick and Izzy coming through the pages directly to my heart. Although similar to a soap opera with all the angst and drama, this is an entertaining story, and I definitely plan to continue with the rest of the series.

Bolton Hill performs brilliantly. He has such a sexy voice, and he portrays Nick's strong, alpha male personality equally as well as Izzy's feminine yet fierce personality. Hill narrates both books in the series, so the continuity makes transitioning between books easy. Hill is the perfect choice for this series of romantic suspense, and I sincerely hope that Trotter and he keep these fun audiobooks coming.

Great Read

Sex & Homicide: The Big Fish Case (Death Betrayal and Love Book Two) was another great read by Paula-Michelle Trotter. Nick's job is to hunt down killers and Izzy is an independent career woman. They knew that they didn't immediately fall in love with each other but they had an intense chemistry. But neither on thought that Izzy would become the target of a killer. I absolutely loved reading this book and can't wait to read more of this series.
