This is not an ordinary story but, a unique one. It is very easy to understand and a complete entertaining story.

Wild and Homicide: Her Redemption is the fifth book in this series, and, although it was nice to catch up with characters from previous novels, this book can be read as a standalone. I have read and enjoyed all the books, and this one was no exception. However, it was not the type of romance that I prefer. I like the traditional love story in which two people meet, have their various romantic drama and end up with an HEA. I can't say more without giving away the surprise twist in the story, but that is not the premise of this book. I really enjoyed the two main characters, Carla and A.J., on their own and as a couple. They were both mature, incredibly strong individuals, and they hadn't allowed past trauma to rule their lives. I was just a little sad by the outcome of the book because not everybody gets the at least happy for now ending I wanted. Hopefully, that means another book in the series soon to resolve that situation.

Bolton Hill is an amazing narrator, and his performance in this novel is excellent. He has a deep, resonant voice that is almost soothing as he narrates the book. I especially enjoyed his gentle southern accent for A.J. The book is told from alternating points of view, and Hill uses just a slight change in tone and pitch for each of the main characters. It is the perfect amount to differentiate between the male and female roles without sounding jarring.
