Seventh

Seven names. Six dead. One man survived.

In December 1994, a covert British operation in Prague collapsed with terrifying precision. Within seventy-two hours, six people connected to Operation BRAMBLE were dead. The seventh name—Marek Wierzbicki—survived.

Thirty-two years later, retired intelligence officer Donald Gresham receives a copy of the page he remembers destroying. Across it, someone has written: YOU MISSED ONE.

Investigator Timothy Smeaton discovers a casualty report that does not match the dead, a vanished annex, and a Russian warning remembered differently from London. Marek spoke to the Russians. No one can agree whether he betrayed BRAMBLE, tried to save it, or was used to conceal a second breach.

Then a dormant code reappears beside a live technical shipment outside Vienna. The old operation is moving again, and someone understands its machinery well enough to make governments react.

Why were there seven names on a list meant to move only six people?

Seventh is a tense British espionage thriller of Cold War secrets, buried operations, Russian intelligence, and a friendship that may have outlived betrayal.
