Amazing Self-Help Book

This is an amazing book. I highly recommend it, whether you are a counselor or just a regular person. Even if you don't have low self esteem, you can benefit from the book because it can help you increase or maintain your self esteem, either for you or your children. There is a lot of good advice, as well as lots of good exercises to do.

Some self-help books are not good; however, this book is certainly good and helpful. So if you are looking for a good, active book on this subject, I do highly recommend this one.

Easy to follow!

I experienced alot of frustration when I initially attempted to deal with my low self-esteem and social anxiety. But after listening this book with A Practitioner's Guide I realized that a huge part of what was preventing my progress was beating myself up with negative thoughts, linked to negative beliefs, which would then cause depression. Once I learned how we internalize the critical and punitive messages that we receive, verbal or otherwise,as children from significant others,i.e.parents, teachers,siblings, etc., and how to deal with those voices I was able to begin making progress. The key is to realize that the negativity and the negative self-talk are your parents, or other significant childhood figures, talking. Once you realize this you can talk back,i.e. in imagery, letters, empty-chair, etc. to those figures and tell them what they have cost you and to shut the F@#$-Up. Only then was I able to make progress.

Worth listening

I was so shocked to see how this book hit the nail on the head with me....it was so "eye opening". Really straight forward. I liked it very much. I can't speak highly enough about this book. It's chocked full of great insights and ideas for improving your self esteem. I read this book of self esteem and in my opinion, this book blows the other one away with it's through insights and practical suggestions. Buy it! This book is full of wisdom and practical insights and suggestions on how to improve your self esteem.

You will listen this over and over again.

From the moment I started the book, I saw myself in it. It has challenged me to deal with the "inner critic" and look at situations in my past that has framed my mindset. It helps you to regain control of who you are versus what others want you to be.

Recommended by my therapist

My therapist recommended this book to me. After just listening the first chapter, I knew why! I ordered the companion book to help me with the "homework" throughout the book. Got a great price on it and it was delivered just as expected--good condition and quickly.

Great book!

This was an excellent choice for someone who wants to work on their self-esteem. It provides easy steps and exercises to do and apply to everyday which will help. I have already noticed a difference in the way I feel about myself. This is also a great choice for therapists, counselors, etc. to use with their clients. I will definitely be doing so.

Excellent book. The best of its kind.

All anyone needs to know about what is self-esteem, and how to improve it is in this book. Better, I think, than any other book. However, putting what the book says into practice, for yourself, is required.

This book can change your life!

I have only listen through chapter 3, and I can already see tremendous value in this book. I am naturally skeptical of self help books, but this one is philosophically valid. If you have self-esteem issues, this book is a must listen. It offers a lot of useful information and practical exercises. Don't put off buying this if you want to increase you self-esteem.

Really helpful and thought provoking

Would recommend to anyone even if they don't think they have self esteem issues, I was amazed to realize issues I didn't think were related actually stemmed from low self esteem. Very helpful, insightful and practical.

You have to do the work

This book offers the path to change with exercises,examples and explanations. If you are listening this book, then you would want to grow, and this book offers the (sometimes uncomfortable) opportunities to change the way one thinks about themselves.

Game Changer!!!!!!

I have struggled my whole life with self worth.This book is written in such a way that I can take my time, digest each chapter, practice the understandable and applicable exercises and NOT feel overwhelmed. I took notes, highlighted, worked the exercises and FELT the changes in my life.

This audible book is a game changer. Worth EVERY penny.

All women should listen this book!
