Blunt informercial
What did you like about this audiobook?
I wanted to believe - in Harv Eker - I really did. I have read many books on wealth building and self-improvement, and I have been very successful by following the principles taught by authors such as Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, Napolean Hill, and Robert Kiyosaki, among others. I have applied their principles and found that they work. But these other authors provide something that Mr. Eker does not - substance.
The first 187 pages of this book are filled with shallow generalities and soundbites such as: "Rich people are bigger than their problems. Poor people are smaller than their problems." I don't disagree, but there is nothing to back up these simple "wealth principles" and little in the way of direction for implementation.
Still, this book could be an adequate primer for those who have had no introduction to the genres of wealth-building and self-improvement -- except for the continual pleadings to visit the author's website and attend his seminars. Yes, I know that authors in many fields often write books as a means to promote themselves and their other products, but I have never seen a book, other than giveaway promotionals, that so blatantly pushed the author's other products while providing so little in return. Like an infomercial, this book continually tells you what you could experience if you would only attend his seminar. And all those website freebies promised throughout the book? You must give him your name and e-mail address before he'll let you in. And after you do that, you must provide a credit card and pay a $100 deposit for that free seminar.
I'm returning my book tomorrow and getting my money back. For the same amount of money you can get BOTH "Maximum Achievement" (Brian Tracy) AND "Think and Grow Rich" (Napolean Hill). Neither is an infomercial in disguise.
Oh, and what comes after those first 187 pages of fluff? A five-page invitation to visit the registration-required website and attend the credit card-required seminar, a four-page advertorial for the same seminar (still no mention of a credit card here), a two-page lecture to "share the wealth" by committing to tell at least one hundred people about the book (or buy the book for them!), and a four-page list of seminars, home learning programs, and instructions on how you can hire Harv to speak at your own event.
Come on, Harv - I don't fault you for building your own wealth through seminars, CDs and speaking engagements, but please don't charge us $20 for your catalog. Give us something we can use!

Two Words... Pure Gold!
T. Harv Eker shares some of the greatest secrets I have ever heard of the inner game of becoming a millionaire in this book. It's clear from listening to the audiobook that Harv has a passion for the topic and that is incredibly motivating for the listener.
I particularly enjoyed how the secret wealth files are shared - they are clear and very informative. I took almost twelve pages of notes listening to this! Awesome stuff!
For anyone who wants to make more money this information is pure gold. I highly recommend it.

Good stuff
I bought this and I found it excellent. It's over three hours long. I'm not drinking the kool-aid, either. I'm an entrepreneur with a passion for self improvement. I grew up with parents that provided poor role models for money, great role models for love and compassion. My Dad was born in the Depression and he never got over it. My Mom never met a dollar she didn't want to spend. I've worked hard to retrain my "programming" for the last five to seven years and my financial condition has improved gradually (not dramatically, but gradually and significantly), to the point now where I'm comfortable, but not yet "wealthy". I'm looking to break through to the next level.
This guy's insight is terrific and on-target. Some of the negative reviews written here are obviously not from people who listened to anything but the promo sound clip. If they did, they would have heard more content than they alluded to in their reponses. Much more.
This guy tells it like it is. If you're prepared to hear direct truth about how poor, middle and high income people think, then buy it. The two other books that profoundly changed my life are 1) Think and Grow Rich (Napolean Hill) and 2) Cash Flow Quadrant (Part of the Rich Dad/Poor Dad series by Robert Kiyosaki). This one's my new # 3.
Some key statements in this book:
To someone who says "Money isn't important" he replies, "You're broke, aren't you? And you have been broke for a long period of time, haven't you?"
Regarding aspiring to be "comfortable":
"You will never be rich or happy if you aspire to be comfortable. Aspire to be uncomfortable, to be in a continuous state of personal growth."
This book has given me more to change my life than anything I've experienced in a long time.
Great stuff.

Unique presentation covers a lot of ground
Previous reviews seem to indicate that either you love or hate this audio book. I can see why. I believe it is hard to argue with the information he presents ... all good stuff right on target and very complete. What really sets this apart is the way it is presented and the way he tries to get it cemented into your brain. T. Harv Eker has a very unique style of presentation and teaching. Part silly, part sarcastic, part in your face, although never lacking in energy.
If you like the presentation style, I believe you will love this offering (which I did.) However it is easy to see how he could rub some people the wrong way. I wish I could think of a litmus test to tell you if you would be one that likes him or not but nothing comes to mind. So it comes down to paying your money and taking your chances. You will know very quickly in whether you will turn out happy or not. I turned out happy.

He's in your face . . .
But he acknowledges that.
I really liked this book. I'm not sure if it will help me get rich or not, time will tell, but I think it will help regardless.
One thing he says repeatedly that I agree with - whether I do get rich of not - it's up to me.
This is not a technique book, i.e., a book that says this is how you buy real estate or stocks or own a business or whatever.
What he says is that you need to program your mind to allow you to be successful in doing those types of things, or whatever vehicle it is that you choose to get rich.
One point he brings up[ continually is that he's rich, you're not, and this is the foundation he set up for himself and other rich people have set up for themselves to get rich.
The people who didn't like the book I suspect are not rich, and so have no basis to claim that what he says isn't true.
In fact much of what he said rings very true for me, in that it's more about attitude and desire rather than technique.
In fact, he claims that all the technique in the world won't help you get rich without the proper attitude towards money and making money.
Witness lottery winners who can't hold onto their money - they don't have the "rich" mindset, and most times find themselves back to the level of wealth that they had before their lottery winnings.
The book is about the Millionaire mind, not the "Techniques and strategies that made millionaires millionaires."
I highly recommend it. Even if in the end you choose not to get rich, I think there are some valuable life lessons that apply to everyday life regardless of one's aspirations.

Weak people need not apply.....
This book reveals secrets that other financial 'how-to' books completely miss. And Eker's ability to communicate in 'everyday' language makes his message all the more profound. But make no mistake --- if you cannot tolerate new ideas, if you don't have the intelligence to grasp universal laws, if you're too weak to take accountability for the results you're getting in life, if you're too afraid to face yourself, and if you'd rather be a 'victim' your whole life instead of a bonafied 'millionaire', then this book probably is not for you. Only if you want to, you can use this book to help you finally understand why you lack money or happiness (or both) and why you self-sabotage in life. Eker will also succinctly spell out how you can change it all forever. For me, Eker's personal story, along with the thousand's he's helped to find fabulous personal and financial success, instills a feeling of exhilarating certainty that I have finally arrived at the end of my financial woes forever.

Love this book!
This is a great listen. Harv is a terrific presenter.
He mixes his past experience, humor, and logic to make sense of why we get the results we get.
He presents simple concepts that urge you to change your thinking to change your results. It is one of those audios you can listen to again and again to reinforce great ideas or hear ones you missed. Never boring not even the 10th time. Like any self help book You must practice it to see profound results, but even if you dont make all of the changes overnight it does help to understand why we do the things we do.We can reprogram our programming if that's what we choose to do!

Put me in a bad mood
Only made it through half way. It put me in a really bad mood for some reason. What he says is truth and I believe most of it. Although I know tonnes of successful and rich people who cry poor all the time. Rich people complain...a lot, I hear them all the time. That’s truth. His voice was so aggressive and angry. I just couldn’t go on. Call me sensitive, but it felt horrible. Some good advice if you want to change your thoughts towards money.

Life changing
This is the easiest to understand and implement self help book I have come across. It's short sharp and precise. I've just finished my 4th time through and as recommended I will listen to monthly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is not living the life of their dreams and open to working on themselves to change that.
