Publisher's summary

Twenty years ago, Leah Bannon's beloved Uncle Richard vanished without a trace. Leah, now a private investigator, begins to suspect it was murder. When she reopens the cold case, Gabriel Devlin - the man she loves but can never have - inexplicably stands in her way.

Only four people know the truth about Richard's mysterious disappearance - Gabriel and three childhood friends...who have all sworn to take that secret to the grave. But a hidden enemy wants those shocking secrets brought to light...even if he has to kill to make it happen.

After experiencing an unimaginable loss two years ago, Gabriel refuses to put himself through the pain of loving someone who could be gone in an instant. But as he thwarts Leah's investigation at every turn - both to keep his friends' pact and to keep her safe from danger - the sexy PI makes it impossible for him to protect his secrets...or his heart.

Great Potential, But...

I'll be honest, this book has a great story line, and could have been sooo good, but the way it was written will almost make you miss that. The story comes across as choppy- the introduction to new characters is strange & the jump between perspectives is abupt and unclear at times. The narration doesn't help make things any clearer, which is unfortunate. Execution aside, if you push through it you can see that at the core of this book, its still a great story.

Chapter Mix Up

After listening to a few chapters, I realized that this audio is mixed up. Several chapters in this audio are missing and have been replaced with chapters from book 2...so the overall story does not make sense to someone who is not familiar with the original story. This also means there are major spoilers which should not be in this audio. This story/series is great but you will need to READ this one rather than listen to this audio.

It was a good book

I loved that Leah and Gabriel fit their happily ever after. I was little confused about order of things because it seemed like the sequence of events was not in order from beginning to the end. But I still enjoyed the book.
