Publisher's Summary

From best-selling author Tom Bradby, Secret Service is a fresh-from-the-headlines thriller for fans of Homeland, Crisis, and Bodyguard

The world is on the brink of crisis. The Cold War is playing out once more on the global stage. And governments will do whatever it takes to stay at the top....

To those who don't really know her, Kate Henderson's life must seem perfectly ordinary. But she is in fact a senior MI6 officer, who right now is nursing the political equivalent of a nuclear bomb. Kate's most recent mission has yielded the startling intelligence that the British Prime Minister has cancer - and that one of the leading candidates to replace him may be a Russian agent of influence. Up against the clock to uncover the Russian mole, Kate risks everything to get to the truth. But with her reputation to uphold, her family hanging by a thread, and a leadership election looming, she is quickly running out of options, and out of time.

don't understand most of it

I believe the reader is not bad but the sound quality is terrible, so bad that I don't understand most of it. I tried and I tried … on phone, computer, with headphones, ear buds - nothing helped. I gave up at chapter 5. Will get the book and read it the old fashioned way.

NOT AUDIBLE

Reader whispered her way through what might have been a really good book. So sad.

Exceptional British spy novel with many twists!

Great British spy novel with a very engaging female protagonist. Very current and worldly storyline with details that help to enhance the characters in the story. "Do you think you can be the warrior you need to be with the wife and mother you want to be." I hope there are more novels with Emma to come!

You may like the book if you enjoy the F*** wors

The book was pretty slow. It also ended abruptly. There was way too much swearing in it.
