Warm and Fuzzy

I love how folks can make a horrible situation, such as Sandy Hook, and find something positive to come from it. It only a shame that it takes something so earth shattering to do something nice for someone else. If everyday, we could just do 1 thing to help someone else, then just imagine what a wonderful world this would be. I also love the fact that this project is done with children. I believe that it is important to teach children life skills (and to me-helping others is a life skill, just like socializing and finances) so that it will become a positive habit for them.

A heartwarming story

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

It was very heartwarming and make one think, this teacher have an excellent idea, and maybe kindness can change things if proactively done and teach.

I liked that the students actually wanted to participate in the project and that kindness is now a part of their lives.

Sometimes a simple and little thing such as saying something nice can change someone's life.

I think everyone should read or hear this book and try to make a change in their lives and in the ones of those around them.

A must read!

I've been doing a lot of reading about gratitude, mindfulness, and the science of happiness. This book ties in amazingly well, by spreading kindness the students in this book discover how much personal happiness they received as a consequence of doing something nice for another person.

Regardless of where you are in your life this book has something in it for you, if you're a teacher or a parent then there's even more to gain from sharing what you learn.

The information in the book is laid out in a logical order and is easy to understand. The language used it simple and the writing is clear.

Rosemary does a wonderful job with the narration, she makes the author's tone and voice come alive.

What a great story in the Age of Trump kindness caring giving compassion unselfish behavior.


Wow what a pleasure what a lovely sentiment in a Darwinian culture... In a Society that only winning counts.

Secret Kindness Agents

Started after the mass murders at Sandy Hook,this is about a project to teach kindness to elementary children.It turned out better than the author could have hoped for. Rosemary Watson was a fine narrator. I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.

A classroom project to share kindness

This book is partially a history of how a school teacher set up a programme of 'random acts of kindness' in her school, and partially a how-to for setting up a similar project. It's mostly the former, explaining what was done and how it impacted people, including those who set it up.

Following the Sandy Hook school shootings Ferial Pearson wanted to make the world a kinder place, hoping that if people had been kinder something like Sandy Hook could be avoided. He developed a school project where each student signs on to do 'random acts of kindness' - even small things like sitting with different people at school or saying something nice to someone. The effects were quick, and ongoing, with the project growing beyond her original vision and into many other schools. The effects are encouraging and heartwarming.

The narration by Rosemary Watson is good. Clear and easy to follow. Well paced and enjoyable.

A heartwarming book

I was given a free copy of the audiobook in exchange for a voluntary honest review.

In my opinion, Secret Kindness Agents is an truly inspiring book about implementing the Golden Rule by treating others as you’d like to be treated.

All this started with the brilliant ideas of one person (the author) who inspired young high school students to serve their fellow human beings by being kind and showing love and compassion to others in a variety of creative ways.

This book shows that students can and do want to assist others in an altruistic manner, even secretly. In particular, the stories of individual Secret Agents point out just how much enjoyment the Secret Agents got from helping students, school personnel and others.

If you want to be uplifted, this is the book for you!

That said, I do wish the Appendix Chapter (for Teacher and Educators) was not included (many authors omit an appendix in an audiobook). The Audible listener could have been invited to (a) download an Audible PDF file for the information in that chapter and/or (b) to go to a website to get it. This Appendix was boring and detracted from an otherwise outstanding audiobook.

Not what I expected

I received this book free in exchange for a review.

Starting with a strength - I love that the author was inspired to write this book as a result of a school shooting especially when it seems that they are more the norm than any of us are comfortable with. The recall of the"kindness experiment" is inspiring.

Honest review - I listened and kept waiting for something that never showed up....The book was more a memoir of sorts of how students (Secret Kindness Agents) ultimately transformed themselves first then others by committing random acts of kindness. I guess I thought the story behind the acts would shape the context for why humans should do more radical acts of kindness and its benefits THEN the rest of the book would more poignantly provide tips on how regular folks could do do these acts.

Words, phrases, concepts were redundant causing a "get on with it" reaction from me. Maybe if I were a teacher this would be of greater benefit to me. As a parent, I will however,share some of the insights with my own child.
