Publisher's summary

What if you could guarantee life after death?

Denton Wade is dying.

And Cyberternal Industries has the answer. An answer he isn't willing to accept: life everlasting in a game world of fantasy, swords, and magic.

EndWorld Everlasting. A man-made afterlife. It goes against everything he's always believed in.

But there might still be hope. And hope is a very dangerous thing.

Far below their headquarters in Dallas, Texas, Cyberternal has been working on a secret medical program. A program made available to Denton though his personal, if not complicated, connection to an assistant vice president at the powerful company.

After agreeing to undergo the procedure, Denton finds himself awakening to a strange, new world. A world he never wanted.

Second Chance is the first book in the series A Battlemage Reborn, and is a gamelit fantasy adventure with soft litRPG elements set in the digital world of EndWorld Everlasting.

So, what had happened was...

So, there I was dying from cancer. Then I wasn't. Now, I am in a game with no idea how I got here and there is no way out. What's worse is I have no idea what I am doing. The worst thing is that there is something very wrong with my new life, nay, very existence. Wait, that's not the worst thing. That would be a spoiler.
The story is very well written from Denton Wade's experience as he learns how to navigate living inside a game with no real gaming experience or memories as to how he got there. It is very easy to see Denton as a human rather than a character as he faces the struggles of his new life while still struggling with the mystery of his old life. The other characters are very likeable and well developed. The adventures help Denton grow and galvanizes the group to be strong enough to face down an epic opponent.
The book is appropriate for all ages. My teenage son and I both loved the book and can't wait to read more. You will enjoy the book as well.

MC so annoying

The story wasn’t bad but what takes away from the story is the MC. Through out the whole story he continues to doubt himself all the time even in situations where it isn’t warranted. Makes the story super depressing at times. This would be very good if not for the MC. The narrator did a very good job he was only reason I listened to whole book.

Very Enjoyable

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It has a very different flow to it than most of the other books in this genre that I have listened to. The author is completely gifted in the art of detail and description, making it easy to really picture everything and feel more connected to the story. I loved really getting to know the characters, and because it moves at a slower pace you really have time to understand and find a way to relate to each one (which I love). I am usually pretty good at guessing what is going to happen next in these books, but the twists and turns this MC takes was pleasantly surprising! Definitely worth the listen and I can't wait to get the next book!

such a weak willed little man

this popped up as litrpg. but it seems to me like the diary of a wimpy man. this MC is so spinless, all the constant inner turmoil. boohoo. the guys dead, everyone's dead. no one cares about "feelings". maybe it's the narrator making everything sound so soft and weak. but damn.

Very enjoyable

I feel that many authors tend to have boring scenes when their main character is in town. Frost does a great job keeping us entertained even when the main character isn’t in battle.

Exciting LITROG Adventure!!

This story was amazing and I most certainly can't wait for book 2! Denton Wade enters Endworld Everlasting because he's dying in the real world. However, after meeting Margaret, his teacher, he chooses to walk the path of a warrior. I loved how Mr. Frost painted a picture of the characters and scenery so vividly. Personally, I would have liked more action sooner in the story...BUT, it was still amazing. I'm excited to see how book 2 kicks off, especially after the ending fight with the necromancer. Man, it was so fun. If you like fantasy or litrpg please go check this out Also find the author on tiktok and reach out to him. He's awesome! 10 stars! Highly recommended!!!

The narrator did a fine job. Fun voices and brought the story to life!

Entertaining

I thoroughly enjoyed the writing expressing our main characters doubts and fears Ashe progresses through the plotline.

Poignant and Amazing!

I really, really loved this story. It felt feel like a more complete arc than you normally get in the first book of a series. The characters felt incredibly real and complex and the world feels well thought out and complete. So far no plot holes to fall into. I cried real tears as I listened to Denton struggle to want to live without his family and laughed out loud at Eli’s shenanigans. So good and so fulfilling, can’t wait for the next story in the series.
