Publisher's Summary

Jenna Ward is vivacious, spontaneous, and confident - except when she's around the man who stole her heart years earlier, strikingly handsome, quiet, and reliable Pete Lacroux. After years of trying to get his attention and overwhelmed from dealing with her mother's new cougar lifestyle, Jenna's giving up on Peter - and is ready to explore other men.

As the eldest of five siblings, with an alcoholic father to care for, boat craftsman Pete Lacroux always does the right thing and has no time for a real relationship. He's looking forward to seeing his friend Jenna, a welcome distraction who's so damn sexy and so painfully shy that she equally entertains and confuses him.

When Jenna picks up a hard-bodied construction worker, jealousy ignites Pete's true feelings, and he's powerless to ignore the desires for Jenna he never realized he had. But Pete's not the quiet guy he appears to be, and his life is anything but conducive to a relationship. Can Jenna handle the real Pete Lacroux - the sexiest, most passionate alpha male she's ever seen - or will she crack under pressure? And can Pete reclaim the life he once had without tearing apart his family? This contemporary romance series features alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They're flawed, funny, passionate, and relatable to listeners who enjoy new adult romance, contemporary romance, and women's fiction. While each book may be listened to as a standalone, you might enjoy listening to the entire Love in Bloom series.

My Thoughts on Seaside Hearts

Seaside Hearts is another emotional, funny and beautifully written story by Melissa Foster.

This time Jenna gets her chance at love after years pinning for her friend Pete.

I felt like this book gave me everything I've come to expect from Melissa Foster books. I laughed at the antics of Jenna and her friends. And I enjoyed the development of Jenna and Pete's relationship. Both these characters had their own family issues to deal with as well and their budding relationship is effected.

BJ Harrison returned as the narrator for this one and his soothing tones made this story a pleasure to listen to. He's got great variations for the different characters and I love that I can just listen and enjoy and know who's speaking even with one person doing all the voices.

I am really loving this whole series and look forward to the next book.

Wonderful!

This is a heartfelt story and well written. B. J. Harrison brought the audiobook to life with feeling.
Jenna was having a problem with her mother. Jenna thought she was making a fool of herself. Jenna had been lusting after Pete forever. She could talk to anyone about anything, except with Pete. She would just clam up and freeze. Pete restored boats for a living and he had maintained the pools in the summer for the Seaside cottages. He had to watch after his father because he had become an alcoholic after Pete's mother died. Jenna had OCD. Would she be to organized for Pete?

great book

Jenna Ward has been in love with Pete Lacroux forever. She can't seem to find her voice when she around him. Of course he doesn't know she likes him. This summer she has decided to forget Pete and move on with a construction worker she hits on right in front of Pete. That definitely opened Pete's eyes. This is another great read by Melissa Foster. BJ Harrison did an amazing job with narration.

Love Pete and Jenna

Jenna Ward is a fun loving, confident woman until she's around the guy she's been crushing on forever, Pete Lacroux. Pete's life is busy, between taking care of his alcoholic father, worrying about his siblings and his job, he doesn't have time for a relationship of his own. He loves being around the "Seaside Girls" and spending time with them, even though Jenna confuses the heck out of him. Jenna decides to give up on Pete and ask another guy out. When Pete finds out, his true feelings surface, ones he didn't even know he had. You can't help but love Jenna and Pete. Who knew laid back Pete Lacroux would turn into such an alpha male once he realized his true feelings. I definitely recommend giving this series a try!

B.J. Harrison makes Melissa Foster’s books come to life, I love listentening to him narrate her stories.

Another Amazing story by Melissa Foster

Jenna was in love with Pete for the longest time. Every time Jenna was near Pete she lost all her ability to speak so Pete did not know Jenna lusted after him. Jenna got discussed one day and asked out a construction worker right in from of Pete. That is when everything changed. I listed to the audio version of Seaside Hearts. I just love the narration of BJ Harrison. His voice makes my ride home from work enjoyable.

good book

This friends to lovers story was a nice continuation of this series that I enjoyed. Pete and Jenna were well written characters that had chemistry and family issues that were relatable to the reader. I enjoyed also catching up with the crew from Seaside as well. Their story was fast moving but ended abruptly but was well written and kept me interested as a reader from the first page to the last. The narration from Mr. Harrison was well performed and enthusiastic for the listener keeping me entertained throughout. I enjoyed this book from the start and would recommend this book to others.

Pete and Jenna

Pete’s had a thing for Jenna for years. Jenna’s had a thing for Pete for years. So what’s the hold up? Well, Jenna is only a summer girl at Seaside, and Pete’s not exactly what he appears to be. Jenna has decided that this summer will be different. Pete better step up or she will leave him behind. This is a steamy story about two people who finally wake up, their friends, family and Seaside. The second book in this series, it’s definitely worth the read. You’ll enjoy the escapades, the heat, the fun, and the friendships. And if you’ve read the first in the series, you’ll catch up with old friends while you make new ones
.
I read this story a while back, but just listened to the audio version, and it is so good. B.J. Harrison does such a good job with the voices. He really brings the story to life. Whether you read the story or listen to it, it's worth the time. Such fun!

A great romance!

I really loved this story! Jenna has been attracted to Pete forever, but is terribly tongue-tied when he is around. Pete is looking for a confident woman, so he has never asked her out. Jenna returns to Seaside for the summer determined to move on from her crush. Her coming on to another guy is something Pete discovers he's not too happy about. Pete's promises of "erotic and sensual sex" whispered in her ear is all it takes to get Jenna's confidence going. It is a really sweet relationship, but also pretty hot.
My favorite scene in the book is at the very beginning. It involves the loss of hot water, Jenna losing the towel wrapped around her, a clinched shirt and Pete "peeking". Absolutely loved it!
As usual in Foster's books, the main characters have issues. In this book, they both have issues with a parent. Both parents have suffered losses. The main characters seem to draw comfort and wisdom from the other in order to help them start to resolve those parental issues and set their parents on the road to healing.
As always, the narration by B. J. Harrison was superb.

Seaside Hearts

I loved the character, Pete. Though he played a minor part in earlier episodes, I was anxiously awaiting his and Jenna's happily ever after.

Sweet summer loving!

Seaside Hearts is the second book in the Seaside Summers series and I loved it as much as the first. Jenna has wanted Pete for years but when she is near him she gets shy and awkward and she fumbles. As far as she is concerned, she is not his type and he is totally not interested in her. Pete, however, is interested, but he has a complicated home life; his father is an alcoholic and his time is taken up taking care of him and trying to prevent his addiction from being exposed. Jenna decides it is time to give up on her dream of Pete and try moving her attention to other men, but seeing Jenna flirting and with another man makes Pete realise that he has to make a decision. Does he follow his heart or risk losing Jenna forever?

I loved Jenna and Pete's story. Both had complicated situations and issues to deal with. It was great to see Jenna come out of her shell and be the confident gorgeous woman she was. My heart melted for Pete, he was such a sweetheart. But he was also a hot, sexy alpha and when he saw Jenna with another man, his protective instincts kicked in and he knew she was his. The chemistry between the two was off the charts and the love scenes hot. The relationship was well developed and they were an awesome couple.

Seaside Hearts was a great addition to the series and another fab read from Melissa Foster. She is go-to author for me. I've not read a series of hers that I have not loved.

I was so happy to hear that B.J Harrison was narrating this book. He has a great ability to make the story and the characters come alive. He did an amazing job and I hope he narrates the next book in the series too!

Awesome read!! Loved Jenna and Pete

If you could sum up Seaside Hearts in three words, what would they be?

Funny, Heartwarming and Sexy

What did you like best about this story?

It has well developed characters and tons of emotion with an amazing family feel to it, Melissa Foster writes stories that make you want to be part of them and once you jump into this story you won't want to come out until your all finished with sexy Pete and sweet Jenna

Have you listened to any of B.J. Harrison’s other performances? How does this one compare?

YES!! Loved Seaside Dreams

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, i didn't want to turn it off and come away from it!! Love the different voices B.J. Harrison uses for all the characters

Any additional comments?

The story of Jenna and Pete is absolutely one of my favourites. Jenna is completely in-love with Pete and when she's around him she doesn’t act like she has herself together, she acts all shy and silly while Pete has his hands full with his dad who has turned to drink after Pete's Mom's death.
The love story of Jenna and Pete is entertaining and very engrossing that you kept you turning the pages until the end

Another good listen

Would you consider the audio edition of Seaside Hearts to be better than the print version?

I was always wary of an audio book, but not i have listened to 3 books now I really enjoy then, I am a big fan of the seaside girls and love Jenna and Pete. They go so well together, her with having to have everything colour coded size ordered. Pete happy to let her do it. They took a long time getting together thinking each other only wanted to be friends. They sizzle together. Add in Jenna's mom and Pete's dad there are many hurdles to overcome. But with the help of the seaside girls we have another entertaining story

What does B.J. Harrison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

His ability to make the girls come alive

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh because of the comments from Bella, and Jenna with her OCD

Any additional comments?

would recommend a listen

True love saves the day

Jenna has loved Pete Lacroux from afar for years and this year she decided to give up on him and date other people. Pete who is having family problems has always loved Jenna but felt he didn't deserve her gets totally jealous when Jenna starts dating. What ensues is funny and emotional with them ending up together only to have Pete family problems impact on their relationship. Love this book and Jennas OCD.
