I lost the love of my life when she disappeared without even a goodbye. It was the 80’s - there was no internet, no Google, no cell phones. If you wanted to disappear, you could. And she did. She crushed my soul. A friend just told me he saw her on Facebook. And now I’m a keystroke away from asking her the question that’s haunted me for two decades. “Why did you leave me?”

Two decades after she broke his heart, sexy entrepreneur Schooner Moore uncovers the truth and betrayal his life has been built on when he Facebook friend requests college love, Mia Silver. Determined to win Mia’s love once again, Schooner embarks on a life-altering journey that could cost him everything.

This is the first book of USA Today Bestselling Author Julie Richman's Needing Moore Series trilogy and is not meant to be read as a stand-alone. Books 2 & 3 - Moore to Lose and Moore than Forever are both available.

I really didn't think I was going to like this book when it went back in time from the handsome, successful yet miserable 43 year old Schooner drowning his sorrows and reflecting over his life. And, as it went back 24 years to slowly describe his life as the 19 yr old naive College student who was letting himself be easily (and frustratingly) manipulated by his plotting, bitchy beautiful girlfriend whilst all the time watching and wanting quirky Mia, it was a bit YA. However, as the plot unfolded, the once doomed love story drew me in when, now adults, they reconnected and rekindled their relationship..... but there were problems along the way.

At 16 and 19 you think you know everything but, as Schooner and Mia found out, sadly that's not the case as life on Campus led to lies, misunderstandings, a shocking discovery and teenage insecurities which played a painful part in their breakup. However, at 40 and 43 they're confident and successful adults and they both know what they want..... each other. There was lots of angst, drama, a couple of enemies amongst a host of secondary characters, fairly light sex then a very hot shower scene and some tender touching parts as they finally get another chance to have their much deserved and long awaited HEA...... but there's an OMG of a tragic cliffhanger that crept up on me and left me with my face in my hands whilst saying "OH NO, NO, NO PLEEZE it just can't end there" but it did.

Worth a credit? An enjoyable, easy-going, unrealistic, romance, once you get passed the frustrating, but I suppose necessary, foundation of the College romance which thankfully then leads into the adult romance that has both passion and pain which made this a romantic and heartbreaking listen. I love trilogies and this one is ok, although it isn't the greatest one ever, it has the potential to build into something really good and so YES it was a creditworthy addition to my library.

Where does Searching for Moore rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top ten. Mia makes me love this story a lot, Scooner, not so much. He did grow on me later though. He redeemed himself.

What did you like best about this story?

The second chance Mia gets with Schooner twenty something plus years later. I will confess, I don't like the 19 years old Schooner much at all. He wants to have his cake and eat it. He wants to have CJ out front and Mia on the side. He did not have the guts to break up with CJ and be with Mia, and that really hurts. A lot. Common, how can you get a blow job from somebody you want to break up with? Then later when Mia disappeared, he upped and married CJ in the blink of an eye. Douche!

What does Paul Woodson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The real emotions of Schooner.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I was on edge and anxious for Mia.

Any additional comments?

I love the fact that as soon as Schooner connected with Mia, that second, he asked...'Why did you leave me'. No convoluted plot, no twist or annoying procastination. He also left his conniving, lying CJ that same night. 'Showtime'....

I had never read or heard of this author before and I didn't have high expectations. I thought I'd listen to decent story, but this audiobook surprised me! It's well written and narrated. It made me laugh out loud at times and while I didn't cry there were sad parts too. The writing is not rushed, the author takes her time letting the story unfold and I love that. Warning it has the dreaded cliffhanger which I hate. But guess what? I'm downloading the 2nd in the series right now!

I really loved it!

Would you listen to Searching for Moore again? Why?

Yes - I would be interested in finding what Schooner and Mia did the 24 years they were apart and I want to see the results of Schooner's divorce. I want to see what happens to Mia and Schooner's baby and what the next 24 years of Mia and Schooner's life has is store.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mia -she was a free spirit, smart and kind, but she could dish out the wrath when needed!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were parts in the book where I could feel the pain the characters were experiencing and parts of it did make me cry. There was some witty banter between some of the characters that made me smile.

Any additional comments?

I rarely have a strong emotional reaction to a story, but this one grabbed my heart.

Very Touching and Emotional Story
