narration was great,would recommend if you like Bond. puts you right there as the story unfolds.

A thoroughly enjoyable story, well performed by Vance

Simon Vance gives a commanding Audible performance in this entertaining Bond installment by John Gardner. Well imagined. Even Sean Connery is given a tip of the hat.

loved this book....kept me on the edge of my seat....full of action..bond at his best

Not great

Several items just not real or writer was not really knowledgable of, including guns, airplanes and snakes. The wrapup was not like ian fleming at all.

James Bond vs Suicide Bombings

John Gardner writes spy novels that happen to feature James Bond. This one has Bond going against an arms dealer who also runs a religious cult that produces suicide bombers.

Takes about two hours to get moving but then the horror and suspense starts and you get going to the finish. No luxury or exotic locations, just a macabre and brutal psycological thriller.

One of the better Gardner Bond books and very well performed by Simon Vance.
