Scoring on the ice? Piece of cake.

Scoring off it? Well, there’s a reason I’m still a virgin.

I’m not entirely clueless about women, though I do tend to put my foot in my mouth around them far too often. Like I did with Scout, the donut maker I stupidly introduced myself to despite visiting her truck for years. Maybe my teammates have a reason to call me the dumb one, but I’m determined to prove them all wrong—Scout included.

I want to be her friend. I want her to see the real me. What I’m not expecting is to like her so much when we start spending time together…or want to kiss her so badly.

I’m the jock, and she’s the bookworm. On paper, we make no sense together. But maybe I have a scoring chance with her after all.

A fun audiobook!

Hockey? Yes please! Virgin hero? Double yes! Bookworm heroine? Count me in! 𝚃𝚎𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚗 𝙷𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛 ‘𝚜 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 has that and so much more!

I have loved following these hockey guys. They are so swoon worthy, and Miller? He’s my favorite! I adored him. I loved how he was with Scout and I fell so hard for him! 𝚃𝚒𝚖 𝙿𝚊𝚒𝚐𝚎 did an absolutely incredible job at narrating and bringing Miller and his true heart to life!

Scout. Let’s talk about her for a minute. I loved her……and I disliked her. How? Well, I wanted to smack her a time or two throughout and yell at her to “wake up and SEE Miller…….like 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 see him!”. But, I totally get why she had to be the way she was. Because when she 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 accepted…..well let’s just say that the fireworks imploded at the end of 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 scoring hockey match! And, 𝖢𝖺𝗅𝗅𝗂𝖾 𝖣𝖺𝗅𝗍𝗈𝗇 was supreme in her portrayal of Scout! I felt all the emotions, all the fun, with her narrating!

This is an audiobook you do not want to miss! It’s a perfect addition to the 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐬 series and one I will be returning to again! Once again, 𝚃𝚎𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚗 𝙷𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛 weaves us an incredibly addictive, spicy, banter filled romcom in her trademark fashion! Can’t wait for the next book!

Hockey romance with a virgin hero and friends to lovers!

Scoring Chance is the 5th book in the Carolina Comets hockey romance series from Teagan Hunter. I’ve been having a great time with this low angst, hockey romance series and this one was another hit!

Miller is a 24-year old professional hockey player and a virgin! We’ve seen him as the rookie throughout the series and it was so fun finally seeing his story. Scout is the donut maker and another character we’ve seen featured throughout the series. She’s been crushing on Miller for the past couple years and is crushed when he ends up introducing himself to her one day…as if they don’t already sorta know one another with him coming to her donut truck for a while. After some slightly hurt feelings, he makes it up to her and they become friends!

Scout has been wanting to be a romance author but hasn’t been able to write since the death of one of her dads. But now with Miller in her life, she’s feeling inspired! She ends up agreeing to be his date for a hockey fundraiser event when she sees his teammates giving him a hard time about finding a date and from there is when their romance starts to pick up. These two were real cute together and I just always love a friends to lovers setup!

LAUGH OUT LOUD + SWOON WORTHY 🔥

Miller is a 24 year old professional hockey player + he is still a virgin . Finally out of his rookie years, Miller is ready to shine in every aspect of his life - especially in the department of Scout . But first he has to make it up for the fact that he introduced himself to her at a bar one night when they already see each other everyday at the donut truck . Miller’s tenacity + relentlessness of not giving up on being friends with Scout pays off . They finally become friends, to best friends, to Scout being the one who introduces + takes all of Miller’s firsts . Miller isn’t sure if what he is feeling is true love or if he is letting the euphoria from all the pleasure get to his head .

Scout has wanted to become a romance author for awhile now but has had a serious case of writer’s block ever since her dad passed away . Now spending her days the past few years running her locally famous donut + coffee truck, Scout develops a crush on hockey superstar Miller who she sees everyday . As time goes on + the two become closer, Miller reveals that he is a virgin and has almost no experience with anything romance related under his belt . That’s how they become best friends to lovers .. but not without doubts, unsaid feelings, secrets + a few complications along the way . Can Scout put her past fears aside to finally enjoy something good in her life or will she let it slip through her fingertips ?

Miller + Scout’s story was the one I’ve been waiting on ! After hearing about the donut truck being the guys favorite spot + seeing Miller in his rookie years throughout the series, it’s exciting to finally have their story ! I absolutely loved how quick-witted + out right hilarious the two of the were together . I cried from laughter during the grocery store incident + had to reread a couple of times ! There was a few times where the story seemed repetitive with the constant one sided miscommunication, but overall this book was so good . I mean who doesn’t love hot hockey players ?

This is the fifth book in the Carolina Comets series + can be read as a complete stand alone .

This book was given to me for honest review by Valentine PR + Literary Management .

Hockey and donuts, what more could you want?

Scoring Chace is the 5th book in the Carolina Hockey romcom series written by Teagan Hunter. I haven't yet read the first 4 books, and at times I felt like I was out of the loop on the back stories and inside jokes, but none of that was imperative to the main plot, so it really wasn't necessary to have read the first 4, you can jump right in anywhere, as it does stand alone. I personally dislike starting in the middle though!

Miller is a star hokey player for the Comets, and he is also a virgin. This fact is something the reader is reminded of every few pages. You'd think with how much this fella has it on his brain that he would have milked that cow already, but he hasn't. His flimsy excuse as to why he hasn't doesn't really hold up, IMO. Add to that the fact that he is pretty socially inept, and that would have actually been a much better reason for his lack of relations.

Scout owns her own food truck, one that Miller frequents on an almost daily basis. Scout has had a crush on Miller for the two years he has been coming to the truck. But she is mad at Miller because they ended up at a party together, and after seeing her daily for almost two years, he didn't recognize her, and re-introduced himself to her.

So Scout and Miller start out as enemies. Every time Miller comes to her truck she hides from him, thinking he is a massive player and can't remember any of the women he has been with. She makes Miller prove to her that she is worth his effort, that he is here for her and is serious.

One thing that I loved about this book is that this romance author made this main character a romance author. Scout is writing a book! And I loved that her name is a literary name (from To Kill a Mockingbird). I love the bookworms in novels!

This book was a pretty typical hockey romance, and followed all the usual plot beats of this type of rom com. I liked it, there wasn't anything that stood out as really remarkable, or really awful, but I'm not sure this is a book that I will remember all the details of even a month from now. It even has the typical 3rd act breakup, so if you hate that, skip this book!

Overall though, there wasn't anything I hated about this book, and it was a really fun read! I did laugh and have an enjoyable time reading it, but it probably won't be something I ever come back to.

Fun, Sweet Listen!!

Each time I put a Carolina Comets book in my ears, I fall back into a comfortable chair and enjoy. It's like coming home with these incredible players and their families. This one features Miller, and he has a secret. As a hockey player, he put all his time into becoming the best. Never time for fun or a girlfriend, he finds himself still innocent at the age of 24. Getting hassled by his teammates about it isn't much fun, but he does have a conscience, and not any girl will do. Scout owns a donut truck, and these two did not get off to a good start. She secretly crushing on him, does not give an inch, making him work for his friendship. But will this friendship turn into more? This is a sweet, and wonderful love story, a slow burn that gets the feelings moving! I love Miller. He is attentive and sweet, seeming to know just what Scout needs. Scout is a fantastic character, loving Miller for who he is, no judgements and she keeps him on his toes. A few bumps in the road keep the story flowing with ease and enjoyable. Seeing the rest of the team, their ribbing and acceptance of Scout is makes it that much more like coming home. Loved this installment!

Tim Paige and Callie Dalton continue their narration of this series, and they were amazing. These two have become this team and their women, keeping previous characters in their own voices, and bringing new life to Miller and Scout. I loved their performance and look forward to the next one!

hilariously amazing!!

Teagan Hunter wowed me again in this swoony steamy fun read! (well, listen but you know what I mean!) After Miller messed up and didn't recognize Scout when she wasn't behind the counter of her doughnut truck, he quickly realizes his mistake and does everything in his power to get on her good side. Scout is not so easily swayed as she has been crushing on the hockey star for a while and was quite put off by his blunder. But man did he put in the work to get back into her good graces! The animosity develops into friendship and the friendship grows into more. This swoony story is made quirky and fun when you add the hilarious quick witted side characters we grew to love earlier in the series and Miller's pesky V-card into the equation. Scout and Miller's story is so endearing, a must listen!

Sweet Sports Romance

This is the fifth book in the Carolina Comets Series, a Sports Romance. Miller and Scout's slow burn romance is sweet, sexy, and heartwarming. Miller is handsome, and supportive. Scout is beautiful, strong, smart, and determined. They are perfect together. I liked the banter, the humor, the friendship, and the brotherhood in the story. The supporting characters are great. Tim Paige and Callie Dalton did a good job bringing this story to life. #ValentinePR

Virgin Hero Who Falls First!

This is book 5 in the Carolina Comets series of standalones. This series is just so fun! I am really enjoying how quick and easy reads this series has been and this one is no exception. I absolutely love a virgin hero trope and this one was great. Grady Miller has been a fun and wild character since the beginning and I am so happy we got a closer look into his personality.
Scout has had a crush on Grady since she first saw him but Grady was completely oblivious until he wasn’t. I loved Grady’s grovel to apologize for his mistake and how dedicated he was to making Scout want to be his friend. Scout was a reader and aspiring romance writer which I loved so much. Plus all the donut talk from her food truck sounded delicious and made me hungry.
Scout and Grady’s relationship was so cute and I loved how genuine Grady’s feelings were for Scout. The hero falls first trope is another one of my favs and was done so well in this book. The only this that I didn’t love in this book was the reaction that Scout had towards the end during the conflict. I just found it very abrupt and didn't think it fit the personality of her character during the rest of the book.

However, overall I did really enjoy this book and it was one of my favs so far in the series. I listened to the audio version and the narrators were wonderful to listen to. It made the reading experience that much more enjoyable. I am excited to read the next one and find out who Stevie ends up with!

Hockey Romance

Carolina Comets Book 5

Audio narrated by Tim Paige and Callie Dalton

Grady Miller is a super hot hockey player for the Carolina Comets.
Scout owns a donut food truck that the Comets frequent a lot. Scout has secretly had a crush on Grady for awhile, but turned her off when he did not recognize her at a party away from the food truck.
After that Grady made it his mission to get Scout to be friends with him.
I love the chemistry they have for one another. I love how supportive he his with her dream of finishing her romance book.
The banter between the teammates is hilarious.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I was given this audiobook by Valentinepr for my honest review.

Laughter and Love

I love the non-conventional type characters. Miller is a quirky mess of a guy that hasn't quite grown into himself in some ways. I love that he isn't in a rush to change his virgin status really. The way that is is more concentrated on the fact that he is so beyond intrigued by Scout. She may have been the one that was crushing first but he definitely falls first.
Both characters have found growth through the book and a way to lean on each other in the best of ways. The way Tim Paige and Callie Dalton bring these characters to life was so beautifully done. I loved getting to know Miller and Scout through their voices.
