Publisher's summary

  • Presents the unifying world concept long sought by scientists, mystics, and sages: an integral theory of everything

  • Explains how modern science has rediscovered the Akashic field of perennial philosophy
  • New edition updates ongoing scientific studies, presents new research inspired by the first edition, and includes new case studies and a section on animal telepathy

Mystics and sages have long maintained that there exists an interconnecting cosmic field at the roots of reality that conserves and conveys information, a field known as the Akashic record. Recent discoveries in vacuum physics show that this Akashic field is real and has its equivalent in science's zero-point field that underlies space itself. This field consists of a subtle sea of fluctuating energies from which all things arise: atoms and galaxies, stars and planets, living beings, and even consciousness. This zero-point Akashic field is the constant and enduring memory of the universe. It holds the record of all that has happened on Earth and in the cosmos and relates it to all that is yet to happen.

In Science and the Akashic Field, philosopher and scientist Ervin Laszlo conveys the essential element of this information field in language that is accessible and clear. From the world of science, he confirms our deepest intuitions of the oneness of creation in the integral theory of everything. We discover that, as philosopher William James stated, "We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected in the deep."

A must-read about ultimate nature of reality

Ervin Laszlo has some fascinating ideas about the nature of our universe and its relationship to consciousness. This is a must read for anyone interested in the ultimate nature of reality. The concepts are fascinating. The writing is, however, quite dry. And the narration also is not that engaging. But, this is an extremely important book as the author introduces ideas about the holographic nature of reality that I've not seen elsewhere.

This audio file has many errors

Can someone please check this audio file? The reading was interrupted several times by an error on the audio reader. It has stopped about 5 times now and the error says "NaN:00:NaN" on the countdown counter. I have had to close and then launch the reader, which did not help. I signed out of Audible and then signed back in which seemed to work for a while. The narrative and themes are interesting but are marred by these interruptions.

A true pioneer of wisdom

Would you listen to Science and the Akashic Field again? Why?

Yes multiple times It demands more than one review of its depth

What was one of the most memorable moments of Science and the Akashic Field?

The unique view of the akasha..from a scientist and wisdom teacher

Which character – as performed by Tom Pile – was your favorite?

..

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Akasha Field of Conscious Creation

Any additional comments?

I only wish that ALL of the many many books on Akasha and conscious creation and the other elements that Laszlo were in audiobook format. This is the ONLY Laszlo book in audio..That is sad very sad.

Not mystical

Lots of uncited science and hardly any mysticism. Lots of didactic mental blathering. Should have been just a pamphlet.

Outstanding.

Brings a theory of an integrated explanation of the cosmos for non-scientific readers. I highly recommmend it.

Omg - soooooo boring

I really am interested in how science can explain / connect such an esoteric concept with the realities of our existence. But that is not this book. I felt like i was sitting in the driest lecture you can imagine and the author is more interested in fire hosing you with his great intellect than weaving together an interesting concept or book.Avoid like the plague!

There's no way you can read it just once.

One of the most profound and informational books I have every read. This book will force you to pick up other books in reference to it. If you want a better understanding about how big the gray area actually is, then read this book.
