NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • In the final book in The Iron Druid Chronicles, two-thousand-year-old Druid Atticus O’Sullivan confronts the Norse gods Loki and Hel to stop the impending apocalypse, while Granuaile and Owen work to secure the future of Druidry.

“[Kevin] Hearne draws his Iron Druid Chronicles to a pitch-perfect close in this dizzy, world-hopping adventure. But amidst the battles and bargaining that go into saving the world, there is also an enormous amount of heart.”—
RT Book Reviews

Unchained from fate, the Norse gods Loki and Hel are ready to unleash Ragnarok, a.k.a. the Apocalypse, upon the earth. They’ve made allies on the darker side of many pantheons, and there’s a globe-spanning battle brewing that ancient Druid Atticus O’Sullivan will be hardpressed to survive, much less win.

Granuaile MacTiernan must join immortals Sun Wukong and Erlang Shen in a fight against the Yama Kings in Taiwan, and she discovers that the stakes are much higher than she thought.

Meanwhile, Archdruid Owen Kennedy must put out both literal and metaphorical fires from Bavaria to Peru to keep the world safe for his apprentices and the future of Druidry.

And Atticus recruits the aid of a tyromancer, an Indian witch, and a trickster god in hopes that they’ll give him just enough leverage to both save Gaia and see another sunrise. There is a hound named Oberon who deserves a snack, after all.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“[Kevin] Hearne is a terrific storyteller with a great snarky wit. . . . Neil Gaiman’s American Gods meets Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden.”SFFWorld

“[The Iron Druid books] are clever, fast-paced and a good escape.”Boing Boing

“Hearne understands the two main necessities of good fantasy stories: for all the wisecracks and action, he never loses sight of delivering a sense of wonder to his readers, and he understands that magic use always comes with a price. Highly recommended.”The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction

I loved this series, but this book with such a sad, tremendously sad ...

Spoiler alert.!!!!

sigh ... This series always made me smile and laugh out loud. This series was always interesting in a page turning way. Perhaps this books ending is so poor in my eyes because I am extremely depressed and not sure about life.. So for Atticus behaviour to be judged so severely by Granuaile is just so ridiculous and self-righteous of her. Attius is "human" by that I mean imperfect and will therefore make mistakes. There are situations that befall all of us that no matter what decisions we make there will be hurt feelings or other negative results. Especially for one that is very long lived and a the only Druid left on earth for thousand plus years that is doing his best to take care of the earth (Gia) doesn't allow him to keep a low profile make him perfect expected. Granuaile to judge him to do so especially understanding that he (Atticus) feels responsible for great many things that are above his pay grade so to speak is just ridiculous. Anyway I am rambling so I apologize for that this wonderful series to end on this note feels empty...

stop reading this series before This book.

I both loved and hated this book. on one hand it had plenty of awesomeness, new characters that rocked and lots of good scuffles. On the other it's the last book and I hate that. I don't want to post any spoilers, but the and pissed me off horribly and the epilogue only slightly blunted that feeling.

So mad.

the end of thus book has dominated my mind for 3 days now! I'm chopping at the bit for the next book! It can't come soon enough!

This ending....

You had several books over 10 years. Everything gets wrapped up in an eight hour book. A little more meat in the meat would’ve finished up nicely. It appeared that everybody got a cameo in the last book for a couple minutes and then book was over. The Loki story arc was over 3-4 books, but the story barely got off the ground before it was over. I am a big fan of the series but very disappointed in hell it was wrapped up the ending of the book was written quite well, but everything in the middle was very rushed.

Too short.

long time listener, but this will be the last book in the series for me. Very little happens and the animals are getting out of hand. Oberon was smarter in the first books, now he's barely a mascot... Luke Daniels is again fantastic however.

This series has gone down hill.

I listened to this series beginning to end over and over until I just listen to the final book Scourged. Now I don’t know that I will ever listen to the series again, whet a crappie way to end a series.

Don’t bother finishing the series.

Great end to a truly great series. I hope, Kevin Hearne, you change your mind a decide to at least keep writing Druid novels. It doesn’t need to be “the iron Druid”, could be so many different things. But thank you for the hours of entertainment! I’ll miss Oberon, Atticus, Owen and Granny woo. (Yes I spelt it wrong on purpose because I’m a stupid American that has trouble spelling names that have more than 2 syllables).. Good luck on your next adventure!

Bittersweet

I laughed. I cried. I didn't want it to end.

Kevin Hearne's stories are evocative, compelling, and deeply insightful. Each character distinct and each brings a different avenue of approach to what has become a truly stunningly magnificent story.

Luke Daniels is among the top tier of best narrators anywhere. His many varried character voices breathe life and substance into the narrative. He is a true master of his craft and a pleasure to behold.

If you haven't listened to this saga, you are bereft of so much potential joy, sorrow, and triumph. If you have already heard the Hearne then you already know these things to be true.

Thank you for the experience. It was glorious.

I didn't want it to end
