Helpful introductory guide for sailing/cruising

Would you consider the audio edition of Sailboat Cruising (AUDIOTOPICS) to be better than the print version?

I listened to Sailboat Cruising just prior to spending 3 days cruising on a 34' Benneteau with my family. They've been sailing for years, but I have only had minimal experience and was worried that I'd be useless as a crew member. This audio really helped me to not feel like a complete idiot going aboard. I was able to formulate some reasonably intelligent questions, and understood some of the terms and concepts without needing explanation. There's always more to learn, but this program provided a lot of good fundamental information, both conceptual and hands-on. I also like that it is narrated in a friendly and engaging style, with ample real-life examples and situations. Very helpful.

Good information only style book

I have been around power boats most of my life, (power boats). I wanted something very basic, that was informational only. this is it. Nothing too in depth.... but a great place to start.

Well done!

Quick listen. This book helped me understand the sailing lingo and get a general overview of sailboat systems. It left me wanting to delve deeper into everything and not be intimidated. The narrator sounds reassuring and made me feel like I can do it too. I highly recommend this book as a good first step for everyone who is considering chartering or owning a sailboat.

Everything you need to know.

This is the most comprehensive and clear guide that I have ever heard for Cruising. They cover every aspect of chartering a boat and or cruising on a boat. If you’re new to Celine, or are experienced with Celine and are interested in cruising, this is a wealth of knowledge.

the take-away...

I don't believe I learned a thing here. Kind of waisted the time with it. It's not the first one I've heard that I was happier when it was over but maybe it will help someone. Not to spoil it but are you really going to talk to a charter company about taking one of their boats if you dont know, in fact if you can't already assume, some of those info gems he's provided?
