Easy, quick listening, packs a powerful punch.

Easy, quick listening, packs a powerful punch. Convicting for Christians on so many levels (evangelism, family & marriage, why God allows evil, slave labor issues, global awareness and more). Excellent & interesting for the non-Christian as well, due to some respectfully delivered & beautifully crafted reasoning. Narrator lacked some nuance & tenderness & feeling in some areas where it seemed appropriate, yet was excellent at the dialects/accents & character voices.

Great book. Everyone should read or listen to it. Above ask books God's Holy Word: The Holy Bible is the Book that all should read even if it leads to one or more of the persecutions of Christians that are written about in this book. Jesus Christ loves you!!!

Excellent story. Worth listening to

Haven’t cried while listening to a book in a long time. This story is convicting and encouraging.

A profound dichotomy of Jesus at work in the world

As someone that lives in the West, it's easy to forget that our understanding of the world outside of us is, on many fronts, extremely jaded. We have so much. And though it's not by any means bad to have money and possessions, it does cloud our need for something outside of ourselves because we often come to a place where money and material seems to be all that we need to save us and find security. "Safely Home" breaks that idea wide open. This book by Alcorn is fantastic, and it profoundly shows us how, in spite of our circumstances, we all long for something more than anything we can see or attain ourselves. This book, though fiction, also gives the reader an excellent inside look at what those in the underground church in China have to go through and experience every single day. It's a challenge for them to do what we have the privilege to do out in the open here in America, but it's rich with all sorts of rewards that have an eternal consequence and transformative power in the lives of those who are part of this movement in China. I loved this book! And as a bonus, the narrator does an excellent job with all the nuances and challenges of crossing cultural boundaries in voice and words. I would recommend this book for anyone longing to see the power of the Gospel at work in the lives of people from all walks of life.

Best Book I’ve Ever heard Outside of the Bible

I have never felt as convicted by a writing as I have this one. I hear these words and wonder if I have ever done ANYTHING of worth. Thank you so much, Randy Alcorn, for opening my eyes to what it truly means to be a follower of Jesus.

Friendly, easy to understand audio.

I'm enjoying this audio so much I started it again. Won't regret your time invested.

ABRIDGED! Not the full story! Very CONFUSING!

1) all the important parts are totally left out and not mentioned. I feel like it only tells half of the story and the less moving and touching parts. Also the way things are left out, the story is confusing and disjointed.

2) the audio is annoying. There are weird and distracting sound affects and the narrator is boring.

3) I’m returning! Just read the book.

Amazing story

Safety Home was an amazing story of the Chinese Christians and how they live and die for their faith. The contrast with the American in the story made it more powerful.

Good story, but...

Great story of the situation of the suffering church in China. May God help, bless, increase and comfort them.

But the end of the story is more a fiction than fact, not even very much Biblical. But it makes a good book, if that's the purpose of this history. But still....
