Nick White is the only person who can save Abigail Pierce. After uncovering a plot to have her killed, he attempts to warn her but instead puts himself squarely in the crosshairs. They know who he is, they know where he lives, they know how to get at his family.

Drawn into the conspiracy surrounding Abigail, Nick soon discovers the danger is bigger than he ever believed. Now he must uncover the truth to save her and himself. Gripping and intense, this novel is a twisted thrill ride from bestselling author John Rector.

The author did a good job of telling a suspense story. I never knew where it was going but the last chapter wasn't needed.

Kept my interest.

Ruthless is too good to return, barely. Nevertheless, it is not worth the time, although it is short. There are too many good novels to waste time on this.

Not the worst book I have ever read

Rector writes a story that needed more time to tell. Sucking the reader in with gritty situations and compelling conflict, you're doubly disappointed to find the story ends with so much unresolved. While Merriman narrates ably, it isn't enough to counteract the sense of being cheated. Perhaps you should wait for the rewrite before reading....

Ruthless and Reduced....

This has some disturbing sequences in it. The plot twists were good, but I found the conclusion lacking. The narrator was excellent.

Anticlimactic ending

An excellent thriller. Rector keeps the story planted firmly on the ground. It’s not over the top or weird or implausible. These feel like real people doing real things. He doesn’t waste any words. The prose is tight and moves at a good clip. The surprises come when you don’t expect. A great read.
