Publisher's summary

Ysolde Bouchier is still coming to terms with the dragon part of her, while at the same time trying to free a friend of Baltic-her Black Dragon lover-from the weyr, get Baltic to meet with the dragons who want him dead, rescue a half-dragon damsel in over her head, raise the shade of the man everyone says killed her, and once and for all clear Baltic's name of the murder charges that continue to plague him. For Ysolde, being a dragon is starting to bite.

the light dragons

I enjoyed this one. In some of her books I felt like they ended like a TV series season's cliff hanger. There are still loose ends here that leave room for a last book book. As always the narrator Barbara Rosenblat did a great job with her voices. Her whole series is a great light hearted story that makes me laugh.

Baltic is back!

I have been a faithful Katie Macalister fan from day 1.... Before I joined Audible-I READ every series she has out and in doing so, my mind had created it's own opinion of all the character's voices, traits, etc... So, when I purchased and began listening to the Audible versions- narrated by Barbara Rosenblat, I admit I was a bit worried it wouldn't do them justice.... Her voice is very distinct- BUT... Oh, how I was SOOOO wrong!!!! Barbara's unique vocal ranges and absolutely superb variations on the characters accents BLEW ME AWAY!!! There really is no other narrator who could pull it off so flawlessly! Bravo Katie, and BRAVO Barbara!!!!

Worse than Fingernails on a Chalkboard

This is the only narrator so far that makes me want to scrub my ears out with a steel wool brush. Because of her bad habit of talking with a "wet mouth", I cannot pay attention to the story. In the past I was in a tractor truck that did not have very good noise insulation so I did not mind too much. But now since I have been placed into this more expensive truck, I can hear every slurp, slosh, and sip. Now, if I every find this narrator reading a book I want, I'll buy the paperback and save myself the trauma of listening to her.

A forced ending to the series

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this whole series, but I would put more emphasis on the earlier dragon series. This was the end of the dragon series.

Would you be willing to try another book from Katie MacAlister? Why or why not?

I have purchased several books from Katie MacAlister. Some were great reads and some not so much.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I did like that the author continued to bring in the old dragons from the earlier series to have some minor roles in the book to bring things together. I did not like how the story seemed a little forced. Like Katie was struggling to end the series once and for all.

Could you see The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I cannot see this book the Light Dragon series being made into a movie. It would not come out too well.

One of my Favorite Narrators!

This is the 6th time I’ve listened to this whole series and it’s just as good every time I listen to it!

laugh my a** off.

Then I realized that the stuff others were complaining about was not a issue with me. I am very glad I purchased it because I think Baltic and Ysolde are my favorite couple. I love the way Baltic bellows and Ysolde ignores him and I love the way they are devoted to each other. Brom is growing on me and I'm glad that Baltic accepted him so readily. If you are hesitating to buy this book, then don't, its vintage Katie - funny, engaging, with lots of interesting characters.

Can't picture a dragon using a cellphone.

The book is primarily dialog between characters. Very little in the way of a visual imagery other than describing sexual organs, but nothing to describe the dragons in a manner which would explain how they use cellphones. The narrator is decent with vocalizations.

I hate when the daily deal is book 2 of a series!

Would you try another book from Katie MacAlister and/or Barbara Rosenblat?

I do like fantasy books, but I didn't love this narrator. Her voice, inflection and characters all sounded like something from Everyone Loves Raymond. (I don't love Raymond, or his family.) Overall, her performance and voice make no sense when paired with the content of the book. She's got a New York accent... it's a fantasy novel! It makes no sense.

And because this is book two of a series, I felt totally lost when I started listening! Totally disappointing. Hopefully I only paid a couple bucks.

Any additional comments?

please, Audible, if you're going to market a series as the Daily Deal, start with book one!!!
