Publisher's Summary

Laird Brandon Sinclair has given his life to the Scottish cause. Swearing fealty to Robert the Bruce, he will stop at nothing to see oppression end. Lady Mariana wants nothing more than to break free of the tyrannical hold the English king has on her. When he sends her to Scotland with a message for the rebels, instead of obeying his orders, she finds herself submitting to her desires.

After one sizzling, life-altering night, Brandon and Mariana must part ways. But Mariana has no intention of betraying her heart again. And Brandon is determined to get her back. Stealing Longshank's secrets felt like victory, but taking his woman will be this Highlander's ultimate triumph.

Highland Chemistry!

This series never fails to deliver a wonderful love story along passion and adventure. The author makes each book interesting an entertaining. In this installment the main characters are Brandon and Mariana. Brandon is the usual strong, handsome, highland warrior but Mariana isn’t the typical virginal heroine. Mariana is French, beautiful, and skilled in the art of making love. Together their chemistry is smoking and their determination is admirable.

I think this whole series is great and if you enjoy Highland romances its definitely worth a credit.

Went on too long

Without giving spoilers, I’ll say this. I’ve been listening to the series. This is by far the least probable of all and it went on far too long.
I found myself rolling my eyes way too often.

At this point, it seems the series is formulaic.
The first few audiobooks had really interesting stories.
I hate to be so negative but I’m definitely experiencing fatigue. I plan to take a break from the series for now.
Hopefully that’ll be all I need to fall in love with this band of cousins again.

The Series takes a turn for the better! Great.

First off I thought Corrie James did a great job with narration. For some reason I thought it was better than the last 4 books.....but maybe that is just because I liked this book better.

It almost seems Eliza Knight gets better with each book. This one was great. I was interested from the beginning and I thought the writing was even better. I enjoyed that there was immediate steamy chemistry between the H&H. We didn't have to wait and go through all the teasing.

So far my favorite of the book. The first one of the series I really wanted to hurry and get back to listening everyday.
