After traveling to Scotland on business, the bed of a highland laird is the last place Ali Graham expected to wake up. But there's no mistaking the irresistibly masculine Scottish Highlander whose chamber she's accidentally infiltrated - or the severe wound he's suffered in battle. As a doctor, Ali knows how to heal his injury, how to nurse his body back to health. What she doesn't know is how to heal his heart….
A proud warrior and the leader of a powerful clan, Rory MacLeod is ready to fight to the death to protect his homeland. After all, ever since tragedy robbed him of his wife, he has had nothing to lose. Yet the mysterious woman sent to tend his wounds is beginning to reawaken something inside him - something that he'd rather stay buried. But when true passion is mixed with Scottish magic, even the most fearsome warrior could begin to fall….

I would recommend to anyone who love historical romance and are willing to dip a little toe into paranormal/ fairy tales.
Interesting twist to a historical romance

Any additional comments?
I loved the narrator's voice but she has Ali's and Rory sounding the same. It's also like she has no emotions at all. All she does is read the book. I total waste of my money.I'll just finish by reading the book.

No, this book isn't a deep historical story but its definitely worth reading because of its clever story with twists and turns that keep your attention. The main characters of Ali and Rory very likable and are written with class and the secondary characters add dimension to the story. The time travel aspect has some predictable moments but I really appreciated the plot twists that I didn't anticipate. The story has a nice romantic progression so it didn't drag......and I really liked the ending. I will check out this author's other books.
The narrator was good with all the characters except Ali's. Ali is from New York and even though her accent is different from the other characters it definitely isn't a New York accent. (Ali sometimes sounded like she was the New England area of the USA). But overall she did a good job.
Enjoyable Time Travel Romance

Unfortunately, things come to an abrupt end but the longing and dreaming of what might have been remains then some of the occupants of the Castle tells her exactly why and how she was brought there but it must remain a secret. As the drama unfolds so too does their passion but it's a time of Clan marriages and alliances and Rory's fate lies elsewhere but sadly that's not where his heart lies but will his stubbornness and Clan loyalty outweigh his protective, caring, possessive, vulnerable and loving side for Ali.
This is an action-packed very enjoyable plot with many sub plots running through it, there's humor, kidnapping, betrayal, suspense, heartache, a shocking twist or two, romance, passion, sex, a misguided evil Priest, a nasty b*tch, but some lovely secondary characters. Then, if that's not enough for you, there's Highland magic in the form of a tragedy but fate intervenes and what was once lost is now found but could happiness be snatched away at the last minute or salvation be restored to the MacLeod Clan once more.
Worth a credit? Well, if you want to get picky then there were a few flaws like how could someone from the 21st Century communicate in Gaelic speaking 16th Century Scotland and the Scottish narrator sadly couldn't do a very convincing NYC accent. So, if you feel you can't sit back and overlook the odd flaws and just go with the flow then sadly, perhaps this just isn't the book for you. However, I really enjoyed it and it's another creditworthy addition to my bulging library of Historical Highland romances.

So listen in order....Lord of the Isles, Warrior OTI, King OTI.
This is a great story. There are some twists and turns that keep you on your toes and moments that warm your heart and then heat your flesh!
Great characters all around. I met Rory and Alena in the second book (out of order) and loved their minor roles in it so I was happy to be able to have these characters come to life more fully.
Narration is very good.....as long as the character is a Scot.....otherwise, as in Alena's case...its terrible. Ms. Guthrie just doesn't do Alena well...not consistent but by the end Alena is actually starting to talk like a Highland Scot ...so it works out in the end.
All in all...this is a great easy enjoyable listen. Worth a credit for sure.
The "wee demons" parent's story! Great listen!
