Publisher's Summary

The most beautiful man I've ever seen is the same one who can ruin everything.

The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he'll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent, and thousand-dollar shoes, he's just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants. And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle's estate.

I can't afford either one. I'm the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system.

He may have money and charm on his side, but I have something even more powerful - pure desperation. This temp job at his mother's company can become a full time job for me. It has to. But when Callan's eyes rake over my body, sometimes I forget my obligations. His piercing gaze finds the fun, optimistic girl I used to be and not the tired person I've become.

And it works - if only for a moment. Our night together was a mistake. I can't afford to get sucked into his high-powered family's treachery. But the closer I get to Callan, the more layers I find beneath those expensive clothes. Though I can't forget this is temporary. He's temporary. I have too much to lose. Too bad my foolish heart didn't get the memo....

This Is Going To Be Among My Best Books!!

This is a keeper! This story has a lot of twists and turns and I loved it. 💜💖 You have Grace, who is trying her best to make a living and raising her 15 year old sister. And then there is Callan from Australia, who comes from a cold loveless wealthy family. It’s a great read that once you start you don’t want to stop. As usual, Shane East gives a wonderful performance with an Australian accent. He is also very powerful in scenes where Callan is dealing with his anger, emotions, due to his dysfunctional family. You feel for both Grace and Callan. It’s a lovely story. If I’m not mistaken there will be a second book that continues their story. This book is worth getting.

2 words... Callan Walker!

Any time Shane East is narrating it is a one click for me, so when I started listening to this book by two authors I had yet to listen to I did not know what to expect. That being said, I was hooked from the first page. Loved the dual POV. The characters were well developed and relatable. Plus who doesn't like a hot Australian hunk with heart like Callan Walker! This was my first book by these authors but definitely won't be my last.

Was tired of "She's poor. He's rich. Sex."

I loved the story and hope they can continue this into a series. in some says the story was predictable, but the method they used to make the characters relatable and connection to them was nice. I was hooked from Chapter 1.

The changes in the voices took a bit to get used to. I wished they had kept his and her voice the same for both perspectives.

The sex scenes we're steamy and yummy. They didn't liter the whole book. I was worried that once they started having sex the plot was over. I am forever greatful that was not the case. It also didn't feel out of place or fillers. it made me love it even more.

I recommend to anyone whose wanting something to connect with. Enjoy the fantasies!

Any additional comments?

It was fine enough but not outstanding. Storyline predictable. Characters predictible. I think there were some missed opportunities

What a dreary book

What would have made Temporary better?

At one point the heroine comments "what a dreary life" and I couldn't agree more. I only made it as far as half way through this book - and stayed that long because I love Shane East. But even Shane East couldn't save this story. The heroine has a dreary life, bratty sister, and irredeemable love interest. If the idea of these stories is to escape into a character I felt like I was sentenced to serve out a jail term.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Shane East is always fabulous and his voice is panty-dropping!

It was okay

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Maybe I've read too many romance books. I found this one predicable.

What was most disappointing about Sarah Mayberry and Sarina Bowen ’s story?

I though Grace, the main character was boring and didn't feel the chemistry like I do with many of Bowen's couples.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I love the Australian accent.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I liked Callan and Olivia's interactions.

good

this is my first time listening to this author I'm not going to lie the reason I got this book was because of Shane East I love his voice. this book is about a girl who works at a temporary office who is also taking care of her little sister and struggling with life since both her parents were no longer in the picture she gets a great opportunity and before you know it the World Turns Upside Down from a sexy Australian voice. I have mixed emotions about this book I thought the female was great at times and oblivious at times. I had no problem with a guy's character at least in the storyline selfish rich guy only thinking of himself. but I'm not going to lie I really hate the mother she was a vicious woman. this book is kind of like a cliffhanger I'm assuming that there will be another book with the next character like I said it's kind of a cliffhanger it does finish off well however there is another issue that arised. overall it was a good book was a great.mmmmm. no just good.

😍😍

Grace has been saddled with the weight of the world. Having to sideline her dreams to raise her sister. Grace has finally been given a little bit of a break by way of a potential permanent job when she runs into a speed bump. A very handsome and Australian accented speed bump. To understand the dynamics of the story, you will have to listen, but this is a hate-ish to lovers. Maybe a dislike to lovers rom-com-ish. I don’t even know where to classify it but I will classify it as ENTERTAINING.

Anytime there is a woman who has a crappy hand dealt to them and is doing the right thing and she succeeds, I want to listen. I want to pat her on the back and say, “just a few more chapters... you’ll get there!” And this was no different. Grace was such a great character. She knew right from wrong and even when the right decision was for the wrong person, she still stood up for what was right and I loved that about her. I love when a moral in a story is implanted and makes you think.

Callan was an awesome hero. Hot and handsome and a wayward soul that was looking for direction. When it came time for him to finally DO... oh man. It was epic and I loved it.

The chemistry between the characters was great and the secondary characters were all so worth listening about as well.

So Emma Wilder’s Australian accent... hmm... I can’t complain too much because it was dual POV and dual narration. However she slipped in and out and it was just, not good. Emma Wilder’s main narration was fantastic! Can’t complain at all about that.

Shane East was great with accent and going in and out of male and female characters and accents.

A surprisingly sweet romance

This was an unexpected pleasure. Yes, it has the heightened realism of a romance novel - gorgeous millionaire playboy etc and there are a few plot points I quibble over (at one point said playboy doesn't seem to have ready funds available which seems a bit implausible given the champagne and jet setting lifestyle) - however, this novel also has more heart and plot than many of the genre. A real highlight for me is that THANK CRUNCHIE, audible as actually chosen readers who can do Australian accents! The book is well written, well read moving and fun.
