A new author for me - yay!

Such a delightful story with enough angst and humor to soothe my romantic soul! A little mystery, along with some interesting characters makes this a book I highly recommend to all lovers of paranormal/fantasy romance.

The narration was good with a few editing errors noted towards the end of the performance- these did not detract from my overall enjoyment of this story.

I recently delved into "Sex and the Single Vampire" by Katie MacAlister, and I found it to be a delightful journey through the world of romance and the supernatural. Here's a breakdown of my experience:

**Plot (3/5):** The plot weaves a fast-paced narrative with twists that balance predictability and unpredictability. While it follows a basic formula for the Dark Ones books, it manages to carve out its own unique story.

**Characters (4/5):** The main characters are fully developed, showcasing palpable chemistry that adds depth to the narrative. Entertaining side characters, some from previous books, bring an additional layer with their backstory.

**Writing (3.5/5):** MacAlister's writing is descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the story. It strikes a balance between engagement and complexity, offering a well-crafted narrative without becoming overly intricate.

**Entertainment (4/5):** The book proves to be a humorous and dramatic experience, keeping me engaged and entertained throughout. The well-narrated audio book format added an extra layer to the enjoyment.

**Story Engagement (4/5):** I was thoroughly invested in the story, finding it captivating from beginning to end. The combination of humor and drama heightened the overall engagement.

**Amount of Smut (3.5/5):** The romantic elements, flavored with a vampire aspect, were tastefully handled. The content was vanilla, not overly explicit, and it seamlessly added to the romance aspect without overshadowing the narrative.

In conclusion, "Sex and the Single Vampire" is a charming addition to the Dark Ones series, offering a mix of romance, humor, and supernatural elements. While it follows certain genre conventions, it manages to carve its own niche, providing an entertaining experience for fans of the genre.

Not at all like her previous works!

While some of the diminishing appeal of her recent works can be due to a lesser narrators, though Ms Campbell is not as near as incompetent as Ms Huber who read Sex. Lies and Vampires, it seems to this listener that the refreshing, witty, detailed, writing of Ms MacAlister has become formulaic. Vampire needs girl; Vampire gets girl; girl saves Vampire.

Having devoured all of her Dragon Series, and the few Vampire books Audible had available prior to the recent releases, I was ready for some of what I had previously enjoyed. This was not my experience. It would be an acceptable first attempt at fantasy writing, but to a seasoned writer like Katie MacAlister it is half-hearted prose.

This is Katie-Light and NOT what one who has loved all of her previous works expected. She has descended to the level of Laurel Hamilton which is a great plummet.

Katie please get your art back on track.

Mushy Moravian and his Beloved

Couldn’t get into the story.The narration was ok with the exception of portraying the male voices.Accent was great,but too high for a believable male character.The story was a bit icky sweet for my taste.
