Publisher's Summary

A sizzling new stand-alone contemporary romance by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Katy Evans.

A bad boy with something to prove. A woman with a mission. The race of their lives. The love of a lifetime.

I don't think his parents expected him to live up to his name - Racer Tate - but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.

He's the fastest, fiercest driver around.

Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep...but his smile sends me to my knees.

The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He's secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss....

This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I'm supposed to watch him - make sure he doesn't get into trouble. But it's an impossible task. And now the one in heart-wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation...or your curse.

He says he wants me. He says I'm the one. But he also thinks he'll break my heart, one piece at a time, until it's gone.

Fantastic!!!!

LOVED this book! Racer was everything! If you loved Remy - you'll love Racer. The chemistry between these characters was fantastic! Racer knows what he wants the moment he sees it and goes after what is his - I loved him so much! I loved everything about this book! Perfect narration!

Gotta love SebYo!

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

I haven't read the Real series prior to this so I can positively say that this is a standalone. However being the book whore that I am, I will be reading the previous books. I need to know more about Remington and the other characters mentioned in this book.
So I recently read Moto by M. Never and this book had some similarities in the beginning. In Moto, there are racers but of the motorcycle kind. Racers nonetheless. We also have Kayla (Moto), like Lana (Racer), who refuses to get involved with racers albeit different reasons. Then we have Reese in Moto who is a racer with health concerns just like Racer Tate. While they're different in nature, there is still that similarity. That is where it ends though.
It was a bit of dejavu in the beginning of the book and a bit hard to get into this story with all the comparisons I had floating around my head. I powered through and when I got passed it all, I devoured this book.
It was shocking when Racer's condition comes to light. He is flawed but beautifully so. You will not be able to help but fall for him. Lana was fun, sweet, and her actions when things are out in the open made me love her all the more.
You want to know what made this book for me. The narrators. Sebastian York and Grace Grant nailed the characters. You gotta love SebYo!
Katy Evans is a fave of mine and I look forward to delving deeper into the Real series.

Hard to get through

The female narrator was so irritating to me. When she tried to take on the male characters they all sounded like old men. Sebastian York sounded too old for the part of Racer but he was still better than the annoying voice of Grace Grant. I really hate to say this because I am a big fan of all of Katy Evans books. I just hope she doesn’t continue to use this particular narrator again. I will not buy anything she does.

Story okay but female narration is terrible!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This story was a good insta love story but..... and i really hate to say this and give a low score to Narration and believe me this has nothing to do with Sebastian York! I usually will listen to anything by Sebastian York and this is completely why i purchased this book. Grace Grant on the other hand annoyed me when she attempted to speak in the male narrative. Her voice sounded choppy and that possibly Racer had a disability because the dialog was so slow and there were breaks in between each word. It was irritating and ruined the story for me!

WHEN THE NAME FITS THE PERSON 😊😉👏💝💋

This book had me at hello, and kept me from beginning to end. She crashed into his car, he fell in love at first sight with racing action all in between wow definitely a keeper.💕💞

Racer F***ing Tate

I absolutely love listening to both narrators. Although sometimes Sebastian scares me. lol joking. I love the way all of Katy's stories intertwine. It's always a pleasure to read her heartfelt stories after a book hangover.

Heart stolen!!

5 stars plus
Heart stolen!!!!!
Racer Tate’s book!! Son of Remy, and what an incredible sizzling hot story this is. Street racer turned F1 driver with speed galore!!! Riveting indeed!!!
Racer gives off a vibe as you read, seriously I was hooked on him just as Lana was!
If you are a fan of the Real series, Racers book will be right up your alley. So much so you cannot help but love him so much more!
I was so hooked on Racers story that I had trouble putting it down!
There is also the underlying issue of Racers condition, which for Lana, may solidify a bond between them or does it push them further apart?
My heart was beating so fast at certain moments and I have to say I would read it again in a heartbeat!
This is without a doubt one of the best reads of this year!

Racer Wins!

Since the Real series was so good I came back for more. This was a pretty good read.
My only gripe - Remy and Brooke played a very minor role in this book. It would have been enhanced by more involvement and background with them - but the book was good, the characters were thought out. It's excellence was marred by that little bit of depth that could have been added with Racer's parents - and sister's additional involvement.

A huge disappointment

I LOVED the Real books, and was excited about this book as it follows up Racer’s story (Remy Tate’s son all grown up). But it’s awful! It’s like Katy Evans had written an advanced draft (not even the final draft), then they rushed it to publication without proof reading or editor changes. It’s like a poor imitation of the original stories. Continuity errors, sentences that aren’t completed and a series of scenes pieced together without someone checking that it made sense as a whole. Real shame too as with a bit more work I reckon this could have been good, but instead it left me hugely disappointed. What a waste.

Sebastian York was fantastic (as always) and Grace Grant is ok. I can’t help but wonder if they noticed the poor quality when they narrated it too.

Disappointed

I was really looking forward to this as I love love love Remy and Brooke. I usually like Grace Grant too, but in this one she misses the mark. Her narration seems scatty and detached. The storyline just didn't grab me - it felt forced and I forced my way through to the end. I just didn't care about the characters. It was all a bit blah. Nothing like the Real series.
