Publisher's Summary

Army National Guard Colonel Sawyer Kincaid has served her time dueling with death in the deserts of Africa. Now that she's home, the only sand she wants to see is on the beach in South Florida. Too bad Tropical Storm Leo, swiftly gaining strength out over the Atlantic, is about to draw her in to another life or death war, this time on home soil. Dr. Dara Sims has too many critical patients in the intensive care units at Miami Memorial to consider evacuation, no matter how determined the battle-hardened colonel is to make her. As far as Dara is concerned, evacuate is just another word for abandon. When a state of emergency becomes a state of siege waged by Leo, all she can do is hope the rising waters relent before she loses everyone, herself included. A First Responders Romance.

Great Story

Another great story in the 1st responders series. Definately worth listening to. Radclyffe doesn't disappoint and the narrator was pretty good too.

Disappointing

The narration made it hard to follow the plot. Redcliffe deserves better narrator. Or that will be able to bring to life the quality of the written story.

Very Dissapointing

I don't understand why it's so hard to get a good narrator to read lesbian fiction. I'm not sure if that played a big part in the disappointment I felt or just a small one.
The characters didn't have the chemistry I've come to expect from Radclyffe. The story felt a bit flat as well.

Meh

I'm not sure what it was about this book, but it's probably the first Radclyffe novel I didn't absolutely love. I didn't really care for any of the characters, and the love story...well, let's just say I didn't feel it or believe it. Maybe it was the narration? Not sure.

Another Amazing novel byRadclyffe

Story wasn't as good as most of her others, but it could have been the narrator that put me off. The narrator has (or maybe one of the characters?) a lisp that would carry over to other characters & was Extremely distracting. As well as the storyline almost seemed like it was condensed maybe? Compared to most other Radclyffe novels.

Mehhhh

I'm an avid Radcliffe fan, so I was excited to listen to a new book in the series. Firstly, I blew threw it in day but felt so anticlimactic by the end. I thought the narration was actually pretty decent, it was the plot and characters I had the most trouble with. The plot built pretty slowly, even tho I already knew what was going to happen. The characters were the straw for me. While they were interesting enough, I felt like they weren't well developed. Of course each had her own issues but there just wasn't enough to suck me in. And their chemistry was totally lacking! I have read and listened to the majority of radclyffe's book and in most I feel the characters pain, depth, etc. I just couldn't connect with these two and then they just magically fell in love, dropping the L bomb seemingly out of no where to me. Overall, it was ok but I expected more.... On to the next..

a very Radclyffe book

enjoyed this book as well as the series. the reader has a prominent "S" lisp however...hard to ignore on an audio book.

Couldn’t stop

I like when Rad writes adventure, and this one falls into that category. It’s all about anticipation of landfall alongside the romance. And it doesn’t use the trope of being trapped at death’s door and clinging to each other to feel alive. That was such a refreshing surprise. The setting provides the drama and the story, and the romance is more organic and normal. I truly enjoyed this one.
