Story
The Wastes were just the beginning. I thought the girls and I would be safe once we made it to the caves. I was wrong. Very f--king wrong. Monsters, foul creatures like I could barely imagine, descendants of the alien f--ks that had already killed me the first time around. And to make matters worse, the god-damned caverns themselves seemed to be trying to kill us. Okay, so maybe I was this legendary swordsman with martial arts skills up the wazoo and a powerful chi gift that worked like magic thrown into the bargain. But maybe even that wouldn’t be enough.

I can sense it. The temple we’ve been heading toward for so long. The end of our journey. Standing in our way are the most malign, loathsome, powerful beings ever put on this earth, and their dark chi powers are just plain mental. But I still have my sword, and the things I’m learning to do...Well. We might just have a chance. You can save them. You can save ALL of them. The words have been seared into my brain since this alien f*ck blew me to pieces. It’s time to find out if there’s any truth to them at all. This is it. The big finale. Story
The choices you make define the person you become. A man wakes up alone in the rain and with no memory of who he is. He soon falls prey to a hungry goblin tribe. After escaping with his life thanks to the help of a beautifully powerful orc huntress, the pair find themselves on the wrong side of the law when the man releases a magical explosion nearly killing a dozen bar patrons. With no options available to them, the pair turns to a graceful vulpine alchemist and former lover of the orc huntress to unravel the mystery of the man’s powers and existence.

Publisher's Summary
Death, it seems, isn’t always the end.
I was a soldier, fighting for the lives of the whole damned world, when I went and got myself obliterated by this alien f**k.
I figured that was it. Game over, done. But then I woke up in a different body, in a strange world full of dust and ruins, with awesome martial arts skills I’d never had before. Not to mention a chi gift thing that seemed to work a lot like magic.
I had no clue why or how it all happened. All I knew was that there were these monster girls I was supposed to protect from an endless horde of semi-human things that wanted us all dead.
And there were these words seared into my brain like a motivational quote: You can save them. You can save all of them.
Of course, I had no clue who the words referred to, whether there was any truth to them at all, or where to f**king begin.
Rogan’s Monsters: Wastelands follows our hero's sword-swinging adventure across the wastes of a strange new world. It is the first book in a harem series that includes isekai, wuxia, xianxia elements (martial arts and magic), as well as a few gamelit mechanisms for good measure. Set (mostly) in a post-apocalyptic world, it contains violence, nudity, and sex, as well as alien invasions, wraiths, and monster girls.

Interesting premise, not quite my taste
This is what I found out to be harem lit. mixed with RPGlit,
I felt the story jumped a bit and didn't expand enough on the RPGlit part for it to make sense.
The harem portion was a bit more than I care for.
The story line was an interesting premise, but didn't feel like it was developed,
This book is definitely setting up for a series and over all I liked it, but seems to stop after character introduction to set up for the next episode.
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Unfortunately I cannot give an objective review...
Oh yuck! I'm soooooooo sorry that I picked this up. And I apologize to the author. So since I literally can't give a objective review, I won't. I hadn't realized that this was a harem litRPG... and it's definitely not my cup of tea...
Andrew B Wehrlen isn't a narrator that I can recommend no matter what genre he might pick up and narrate. He's got a technique, pausing between sentences, and that just bugs the heck out of me...

Good Mix of Backstory and Action
"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."
The story begins with a helpful degree of background, setting the stage for the main story to begin. I quite liked the concept, it was unique and interesting. The writing was good, and the action sequences were well done. For me, I have to either like the MC or find them interesting - and in this case both of these goals were met. It’s also a story that sets up a compelling series, which I appreciate.
Narration was strong and sound quality was fine. I felt taken in as I listened, which is my best measure of a good storyteller.

the "ending" is the worst conclusion to a book I've ever read or heard. it's like if star wars ended after Luke and Ben hired Han but before they got into space.

Barely worth the purchase.
Amateurish writing fit for little more than webnovel fodder. It was either quickly written as a type of sexploitation novel, or poorly written by an amateur. The sex scenes are disappointing and the action scenes are... boring. Very little drama, build up, or seeming challange. The characters are paper cutouts filling a role rather than adding to the overall story. We get no sense of greater motivation or internal drive.
I couldn't empathize with the protaganist and the relationship dynamic was unbelievable even for a novel.
Buy something else.

Harem LitRPG
Rogan's Monsters is a Harem LitRPG so it is definitely not for everyone. Me myself I am not particularly fond of Harem books and mostly just overlook them for the other aspects. The action and LitRPG aspects of the book are pretty entertaining, with alien sci fi aspects turning mostly to a post apocalyptic fantasy story.
The narration by Andrew Wehrlen is great, I am a big fan of his and enjoy most of the books he narrates.
This book is only recommend for people that enjoy Harem stories or else this will not be your cup of tea.

Portal Fantasy, Gamelit, harem
This was really well written, with a great premise. I think it was sold as Litrpg, more of a gamelit/portal fantasy. Really amazing potential as a series, probably would be way more popular without the harem qualities, which it did not need, or rely on too much. I don't mind harem and do not feel like it detracts from stories like most people do. I would love to read more in the series. I received this copy for free for reviewing.

Pretty solid, but ...
I received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.
Narration 10/10
The narration is really good, clear, crisp, the expressions are well done, nothing wrong with it.
Story 6.5/10
The story is told through the perspective of a human soldier fighting in an alien invasion of trolls and wraiths where he'll eventually get killed only to wake up in a different body of a powerful warrior 600 years in the future. The story in the beginning is pretty engaging and you want to explore what has actually happened to the world and our hero, while the action is found in good amounts to keep things interesting.
However, I found myself getting to the end of the book with none of my questions being answered and the story turned out more flat than I originally expected. I think there could be less of the protagonist having sex with every female character in his sights and give us a more consistent narrative with a bit more depth and better foundations.
Overall, despite the mentioned negative remarks about the story, I did enjoy this audio-book, which the narrator actually managed to make more engaging and interesting, and I think I could potentially find myself reading the sequel. I'd recommend this for adult audiences only as a swift easygoing listen.

Listened to the sample, sounded interesting. Bought it. about 2 minutes after the audiobook starts it describes itself, and I wanted a return instantly. Just put that section in the sample so less people get baited into buying teenage smut by accident.
