Of course, I had no clue who the words referred to, whether there was any truth to them at all, or where to f**king begin.

Rogan’s Monsters: Wastelands follows our hero's sword-swinging adventure across the wastes of a strange new world. It is the first book in a harem series that includes isekai, wuxia, xianxia elements (martial arts and magic), as well as a few gamelit mechanisms for good measure. Set (mostly) in a post-apocalyptic world, it contains violence, nudity, and sex, as well as alien invasions, wraiths, and monster girls.

Portal Fantasy, Gamelit, harem

This was really well written, with a great premise. I think it was sold as Litrpg, more of a gamelit/portal fantasy. Really amazing potential as a series, probably would be way more popular without the harem qualities, which it did not need, or rely on too much. I don't mind harem and do not feel like it detracts from stories like most people do. I would love to read more in the series. I received this copy for free for reviewing.

Honest Review in Exchange for Promotional Copy

Nice blend of sci-fi and fantasy with some elements of LitRPG/GameLit and harem. A not too serious fun exciting adventure that starts in modern times with a monster alien invasion and ends up in an alternate distant future time. Does have an rpg feel to it without being set in a virtual game world. The AC eye lens used by the main character reminds me of Dragon Ball Z where an eye lens is also used to scan the power levels of characters. Will be interested in checking out the next installment of this series.

Surprisingly good book

This is surprisingly good.
The book starts where earth is attacked by aliens(but aliens are goblins & wraiths who can use magic) and the MC dies in the hands of a wraith to be woken up in a much stronger body of the same name 600 years later on the same earth.

It was fun, the only blowback is the book is a little short.

Good Story

Good Story with excellent characters, not your normal characters but definitely interesting. The plot is definitely intriguing and keeps me wondering. The narration is excellent!

Pretty good

I like the book however the mc seems like he should be more agitated considering he died and wakes up in another body and other than his little harem he’s accentually a slave if he has no choice but to obey the story itself seems like it’s going somewhere so we’ll see

very good

this is very much a harem isekai light novel. It's very good at being all those things. I was only disappointed by one thing at the very end. Which I won't elaborate on because no spoilers.

The book was fun fast paced, and full of classic harem tropes. there is enough mystery to keep the plot interesting but not so much that you lose the shonen harem vibe.

There are a couple of explicit sex scenes but it never quite crosses the line to being outright hentai. The sex scenes are definitely written to be tantalizing and feed into the hetero male fantasy, but they don't distract from the other goings on either. Overall I would say the author found a nice balance.

This is a pretty short book so there wasn't a ton of character development but there was a noticeable amount, our main character has some moments of self reflection and seems to genuinely make attempts to improve his outlook and understanding.

The narrator did an excellent job, zero complaints. His pacing and accents were spot on and consistent.

Harem LitRPG

Rogan's Monsters is a Harem LitRPG so it is definitely not for everyone. Me myself I am not particularly fond of Harem books and mostly just overlook them for the other aspects. The action and LitRPG aspects of the book are pretty entertaining, with alien sci fi aspects turning mostly to a post apocalyptic fantasy story.

The narration by Andrew Wehrlen is great, I am a big fan of his and enjoy most of the books he narrates.

This book is only recommend for people that enjoy Harem stories or else this will not be your cup of tea.

It's part Post-Apocalypse, part Sci-fi Fantasy, and to top it off throw in a ittle Wuxia.

It has a decent storyline but I thought it spent a little too much time on the beginning with him as a soldier then just dropped us in a new body and time with little explanation, but besides that it was definitely not bad.

A whole lot of harem fun

Had a blast listening to this sword slinging epic and no regrets. On to book 2!

Good concept

Good idea but very dry misses multiple chances to add more like most shorter books slow then rushed at the end
