Publisher's summary

Genevieve Daylee didn’t expect to be standing in front of a judge on her 27th birthday. But ever since her life became entangled with a former motorcycle gang, she’s learned not to expect anything but trouble.

Her mother, a woman she once admired and adored, is gone, leaving behind a trail of secrets and lies. She’s living in a tiny apartment above a garage owned by her brother, a man who loathes her very existence. And the father she met beside her mother’s grave is as much of a stranger as Isaiah Reynolds, the broken man with soulless eyes standing beside her in front of the judge.

Isaiah is her protector from the murderer at large in Clifton Forge. Though he’s more like a riven knight in dented armor than a prince on a white stallion. She knows next to nothing about him, other than he works as a mechanic. As of tonight, he’ll be sharing her bathroom.

And, according to the judge, Isaiah is now her husband.

5/5 Stars!!

I used to hate Marriage of Convenience but when it’s written how Devney write it? I’ll read it all day long. Genevieve and Isaiah were an amazing pair. I loved the vulnerability between both of them. They thought that their marriage was just gonna be short lived, how wrong they were. I love reading about “fake relationships” turned real!! Truly another great read from Devney Perry!!

Audio: I love Maxine Mitchell to pieces!! She does a fantastic performance every time I listen to her. Jason Clarke also blew me away in this one. Both paired together was magic!!

Drama!

3.75 stars. The story starts slowly and doesn't pick up until 1/3 of it. I was internally screaming when the FMC, Genevieve, a paralegal and aspiring lawyer, didn't look up Montana marriage laws!

I liked the MMC, Isaiah more, and was sad to hear about his dark past. The cliffhanger from the first book is finally solved! This book touches on grief and suicide, but there is a HEA.

Phenomenal series!

The first book in this series was phenomenal and I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the second book, but that quickly changed. This book was packed full of suspense and heart. I love reading about this group of loyal friends. In fact, I can’t get enough!

Riven Knight Thoughts

⭐️ 5/5 ⭐️

✨ Marriage of convenience
✨ Forced proximity
✨ Romantic suspense

Riven Knight is my absolute favorite of the Clifton Forge Series! Genevieve and Isaiah’s love story is so heartbreakingly beautiful because both are struggling with their own demons. What makes this book even more angsty is how much they are drawn to one another but struggle with their relationship “not being real.” They each had their own demons to deal with and could relate to one another but struggled with isolating themselves. Once they began to open up to one another, I was done for. To see the transformation of their relationship from beginning to end was so satisfying. One of the best marriage of conveniences I have read.

Excellent!

I really enjoy DP’s books, and I’d put off buying this series bc I wasn’t sure I’d like the MC elements. I’m so glad I finally took the dive! This is romantic suspense at its best with so many twists and turns! Strong plot, well-developed characters, ongoing crime from Book One in the series, small town, fake marriage, great chemistry, both the H and h are genuinely good people in spite of their flaws, wonderful HEA, and epilogue. I had all the feels in Riven Knight!

I particularly loved the window into Isaiah’s story…he was Kaine’s brother from Tragic in the Lark Cove series. It really felt redemptive, knowing his background and his brother’s pov of the tragedy their family has experienced. The interconnectedness among DP’s stories is great, but you don’t have to read the Lark Cove s series to enjoy the books in Tin Gypsy. But, be sure you read the books in this series in order!

Narration was stellar which greatly enhanced the story. I started this series yesterday, and I’ve already finished the first two books!

Disappointed

I loved the first book. This book was boring to me. I skipped several chapters in the middle. It got better towards the end and the bonus epilogue was good. They just weren't very exciting and they strung out what happened in the cabin which was stupid.

A sweeter story similar to SOA

This book was enjoyable. I liked that it had Sons of Anarchy feels but was a sweeter, less violent version.
Isiah is a cinnamon roll of a character and Genevieve was sweet but reserved. It was delightful to see them come out of their shells and go through the trials together.

Maxine & Jason we’re perfect for this.

Incredible.

Devney Perry has done it again.
I will forever, only listen to Devney Perry's audiobooks because they. Are. Just. Next. Level. We first meet Isaiah in 'Tragic', with him being Kaine's brother. His story is just so heartbreaking 😩
And poor Geneveive 💔 This book ate me up whole and had me all in my feels 🥺 And part of the reason for that were the narrators, Maxine Mitchell and Jason Clarke, 2 of my absolute favourites!! I'm just going to say it here... Devney Perry is now my favourite Author 🥰

Loved it

Riven Knight is the second book in the Clifton Forge series by Devney Perry. After reading Dash’s book i was exciting to continue read the series to see where the side plot was going.
I’m loving this series because it isn’t just about each couple getting together but has a mystery thrown in to each book and this one was no different. I was hooked on what was going to happen next or how the story would work itself out.
Isaiah and Genevieve are perfect together. Isaiah had such good character development over the course of this book and I truly feel in love him. He was so broken but his love for Genevieve helped him come back to life.
I’m so excited to continue with this series and see where the stories take me!

An intense chapter in the Tin Gypsy story.

It seems that every Devney Perry gets better than the last. I'm still kicking myself for not jumping on this author's train quicker than this.

Before I read Stone Princess, I wanted to read the other books in this series. Yes, in theory they could be read as standalones. But there is an overarching storyline underneath at least the first two books. So while you can read this without reading Gypsy King, I'd highly recommend reading it first.

Riven Knight picks up more or less where Gypsy King picks up and the drama from that story bleeds into this one. Isaiah and Genevieve were side characters in Gypsy King. The action starts right away as they get married. It goes on from there in a rollercoaster of drama.

Isaiah and Genevieve both have broken pasts. Genevieve's we learn about in book 1, Isaiah we learn about here.

We do get answers to what happened in book 1 here. It wasn't as prominent as I wanted it to be and it set up book 3 kinda nicely.

I'm excited to start Stone Princess right away.

Maxine Mitchell and Jason Clarke really brought these characters to life.

Good. Could have been shorter

I didn’t read / listen to the first book and it didn’t matter, you could piece together what was going on without it. It’s fairly long, some parts could have been removed as it was almost unnecessary. The performers were excellent and kept me engaged. Overall 3 / 5 is fair
