Drake has secured his manor and his people’s loyalty. Now, it’s time to go on offense. Confronted with a mandatory summons from the capital city, Drake reluctantly takes his new manor on the road. Now protected by his loyal battle maids, his fierce zarovian soldiers, and his powerful new rarity, he’ll face evil assassins, clueless bounty hunters, and ruthless mercenaries on his way to a council with manor lords who hope to remove him from power.

Yet with the help of his loyal steward, his savvy butler, and a surprisingly bloodthirsty fellow manor lord, Drake will challenge those who seek to unseat him with rumor and doublespeak.

Through careful negotiation, well-placed deceptions, and sheer unmitigated chutzpah, Drake must strip away the layers of the conspiracy that threatens him and secure his role as a manor lord no other will challenge... and a ruler even the powerful noble court must respect.

The second volume of a humorous, adventure-packed Progression Fantasy featuring cat girls, battle maids, political machinations, and a habit of setting the worst Isekai tropes on fire and tossing them in the garbage.

A bit slow at parts with stupid choices to spare enemies and be soft on people that work out due to plot armor. The fact he trusts people not to sell his secret about his blood pack is quite dumb and wish the author would have someone betray it to show the realistic consequences. He also trusts people when they sat they wont speak if his secrets. Oh good right? NO they said speak not wont write them down. Or not to tell a living soul...again writing it down and leaving it out to be found isnt telling a living soul.

The fact the manor lord is so lax in his secrets should bite him in the ass. He also says a few sarcastic things that really should give him away as they are clear not truths.

Besides all that , he also spends way too much time whining to himself over good and evil and morals. When the only question that matters is, what matters more, the safety of his people or his feelings. If it's his people then stop dithering back and forth and sacrifice feeling like a good guy to keep them safe.

At least the ending last hour was worthwhile if rushed.

Double whammy ending

it was a good read, took too long to get where it wanted and could have done more with the story. I waited seemed like forever for this audio book so I might be overly criticizing it. worth a credit tho. the ending tho!
