Publisher's Summary

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic....” (Arthur C. Clarke)

She didn’t mean to use magic. She didn’t even know she had magic. She just wanted to save her brother, who was dying in her arms.

Accused of using illegal magic and sentenced to a cruel death at the hands of the Arcadian Guards, Hannah has no choice but to trust in the aid of a strange, old wizard who offers her the gift of unimaginable power.

But power has consequences, and soon, Hannah is at the center of a citywide war to take back the future that was stolen from them.

Can she control the power that courses through her? Can she unite a team of heroes from different walks of life? Can she bring justice to Arcadia?

The Rise of Magic is an epic fantasy, set in the far future, where magic and monsters ravage the land of Irth and only the strong survive.

Set on the foundation laid by the Kurtherian Gambit series, the Rise of Magic tells an entirely new story of the future of our world and of the heroes and villains who battle for control of its destiny.

Listen now and discover the Rise of Magic....

Rise of Magic Boxed Set One includes the first full arc of the series (audiobooks one to four):

WONDERFUL

Restriction: The Rise of Magic, Book 1 my first read/listen from author C.M. Raymond. I love this incredible amazing story, the personality of the characters and the voice inflections of the narrator.
Reawakening: The Rise of Magic, Book 2 my second read/listen from author C.M. Raymond picks up where Book 1 left off. Well developed characters, a story line that grew on you as you continued until you couldn’t wait to read the finish.
Rebellion: The Rise of Magic, Book 3 my third read/listen from author C.M. Raymond picks up where Books 1 & 2 left off. I can’t wait to read book 4 in the series. I’m sure that author C.M. Raymond has more good writing waiting in the wings!
AMAZING! Revolution: Age Of Magic - A Kurtherian Gambit Series (The Rise of Magic Book 4) my fourth read/listen from author C.M. Raymond picks up where Book 3 left off. I love this incredible amazing fantasy. Reminiscent of The Lord of The Rings in scope, the personality of the characters and the voice inflections of the narrator add depth to the listening experience. Well developed characters, a story line that continues to grow on you as you continued until you couldn’t wait to read the finish. A problem with audio books is that you can’t just read faster as the excitement mounts to get to the end faster. I can’t wait to read book 5 in the series. I’m sure that author C.M. Raymond has more good writing waiting in the wings! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Very entertaining!

Book 1 Restriction:
Restriction is an offshoot of the wildly popular Kutherian Gambit series and the authors did a wonderful job of keeping the theme awareness alive but giving the new series it’s own flare & structure. The story is entertaining, engaging, magical, and tragic. The characters are likable and believable. Book 1 is definitely a “build up book” for more things to come and not all storylines are tied up at the end of this story. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene! I’m definitely looking forward to book 2!

Book 2 Reawakening:
Book 2 in the Rise of Magic series takes up where book 1 leaves off. The team gathers resources to plan their next step all while remaining incognito and hidden. I really like this series! The characters are likable and believable. Their strength of morality and street hardness just draws you in! Looking forward to book 3! The narrator did a fantastic job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene!

Book 3 Rebellion:
The story starts where book 2 lets off. The team’s infiltration continues but the enemy is weary and.... There is a torture scene, that thankfully doesn’t go into the majority of the detail it could have. The underdogs are real, likable, and believable. The book nicely adds to the overall story arc. The narrator did a great job!

Book 4 Revolution:
Nice finish with several battles. I really like how the story has concluded. Several threads are wrapped up but the future is still open. Looking forward to the next book! The narrator did a great job!

I loved the box set, but the next in the series cost the same as the four box set.I can not see paying that much to continue.

Book one and two...good, but book three...bummer

I enjoyed books one and two, but was disappointed in (my opinion) the weak ending in book three! After building up the heroes to be super powerful, they fail! Also, with powerful magic, why would the author have the lead character try to take down an opponent with physical force?

The story development didn't make sense to me! The start of book four is also weak, and I am having a hard time continuing it. I may not continue this series unless book four gets significantly better.

Too much foul language.

The 1st book in the series was awesome with just a little bit of foul language.. Book 2 was the exact opposite There was so much foul language that I finally couldn't handle it anymore and turned the book in. This is really a shame because this author has talent for writing.

Stupid modern language and expressions used

I just couldn’t get past the way the main character spoke. The crude expressions seemed forced. It sounded like when your parents try to talk hip and relevant.

A good boxed set

This is a good boxed set to listen to. It has good story/ character development. This is not a story for kids to listen to as it has bad language and some crude humor.

good story but not for children

This is a good story, but the children's story category is wrong. One of the first events is a near rape. There is cussing and the street they live on is Queen Bitch.

Must read for Fantasy fans everywhere

New series in the KGU, Takes us back to Irth (Earth), where magic is on the rise.
Hanna discovers that she can use magic while trying to save the life of her younger brother, this puts her in danger because she is from the lower classes.
Ezekial returns to Arcadia looking for help, only to discover things are not as they once were.
Adrien once raised by Ezekial, has changed and so has Arcadia, but not for better.

A book full of ups and downs, crying one minute, laughing the next. We are taken on a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, characters that you will fall in love with, and ones you you will want to beat the shit out off.

Narrated by Kate Rudd , a fantastic narrator that has you convinced she is each character and you can't help but become invested in their outcome.

A must read for Fantasy fans everywhere.

Building up for more?

For me the narration was meh it did get better but it was a struggle through the first book or maybe I got used to it..

The storyline was promising but then it suddenly rushed ahead... not enough development for me, im all for OP MC but this was a bit much...

There are more novels so maybe they get better?? I won't know though as im done with these....
