Publisher's Summary

Pulled by the will of gods and the call of her best friend, Mariah knows it’s time to return.

The children she left behind, the children she didn’t save, are waiting, still imprisoned in camps, still being molded into tools to deliver the world into the hands of a power-hungry king.

Mariah will need help to destroy the slave camps and deliver the children to safety.

But will questions about her past derail Mariah’s quest and have her fleeing for her life before she can even begin?

An epic, shapeshifting fantasy adventure about the friends we choose and the choices we make.

Great continuation, loved listening to this

The author did a great job writing the book and continuing the story to make it worthwhile to read/listen to. Narrator does a great job on this book as she did in the first two books.

This second book continues to follow Mariah and her life as she continues on trying to make a good future. The twists and turns will throw you off and make you want to keep reading till you have finished the book

Enjoyable middle novel of the series

For book two, I felt the story was repetitive—we keep rehashing the past as if the reader has amnesia about the events of the first book, but if you haven't read the other books then you won't be lost. It does have an engaging storyline, a few twists that catch you off guard, some parts are a bit too easy/predictable compared to the rest of the story. An overall fun read!

Narrator- ok differentiations
Parents- Appropriate for 14/15 and up. PG13 as a movie depending on the amount of gore shown. In terms of language- none, violence- consists of beast battles, but the war gore is not too descriptive, and sexual content- none.

I'm hooked

This is a great continuation of the Seo San series. The storyline is very original, and the book is highly entertaining throughout. The characters and plot are addictive, and I am going to find it difficult to wait for the next audio book, and not cheat, and read ahead. I did not take notice of the reader, which is the sign of a truly good narrator. I received a free review copy of this Audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
