"Fear is normal, Indra, it is what you do with that fear that determines if you are strong or weak."

One set, three books! Get the entire emotionally gripping and action-packed Outliers Saga in one set!

Book one: Outliers

In the dusty ruins of the world, three groups exist: the Sovereign, the Fortis, and the Outliers.

Indra is an Outlier. Living on land that has not healed from the poison of the past, the Outliers have adapted - but to the Sovereign and the Fortis, they are nothing. For centuries the Fortis have made their abuse of Outliers a sport, but when Asa comes to Indra's rescue, she sees something different in him. Something that marks him as so much more than just a Fortis guard.

But when Indra's world begins to unravel, even the quiet alliance she and Asa have formed cannot save her from the wrath of the Sovereign. In one life-altering moment, everything Indra has ever known is ripped away, forcing her to face a world even more harsh and unforgiving. Broken and scarred, Indra finds herself on a journey that will challenge everything she's ever been taught, learning along the way that she's stronger than she ever imagined. Maybe even strong enough to free her people forever.

Book two: Uprising

Returning to Sovereign City after everything that was stolen from her is something Indra never thought she would do. Despite the scars she wears both inside and out, left there at the hands of the Sovereign and the Fortis, she is determined to save her people from oppression, even if it means putting her own safety at risk.

But it isn’t long before she once again finds her world shattering around her. As the dust settles, Indra manages to find strength among the ruins, and she sets out on a quest to unite the four Outlier tribes, hoping to take their enemies down once and for all.

Book three: Retribution

With the Outliers united and the Fortis eliminated, Indra thought she was nearing the end of her journey. Instead, Asa went into the city, only to be captured, and the Sovereign decided to unleash the full power of their technology.

Now, bleeding and separated from her husband, facing a traitor and an uncertain future, Indra finds herself wondering if she united the Outlier tribes simply so the Sovereign could destroy them more effectively.

With vile characters, brutal conditions, and vicious creatures, the final chapter in the Outliers Saga will take listeners on an unforgettable journey.

Follow Asa and Indra as they fight to start a life together while facing impossible choices that will test their limits and show them what sacrifice, forgiveness, and love really mean.

pretty good. enjoying to listen too

only thing I didn't like was the overuse of the word " beat"
to mean a passing moment..very very small issue.

I've read alot of post Apocalyptic distopian novels. They all seem to be pretty familiar. I enjoyed the lack of love triangle in this one.

Love this!

The best thing I can say is that I enjoyed every book of this series. The storytelling was awesome and this author did very well with descriptions, physical descriptions and other details that enhanced the storytelling.

Fabulous series!

Wow! There's so much trauma, pain, death, surprises, and even happiness in this series. It has a bit of Hunger Games vibe. The romance is not overdone and it fits the story. I cared about the characters and the scenes are vivid. There are separate tribes with one that dominates the rest. They inflict brutal punishment upon those that offend them. Some people want to be free from the cruelty but most believe they have no chance. There is hope though and through the torture we find some heroes.

Just Wow!

I am so glad that I stumbled across this series! The story is unique and gripping. I couldn't put them down until I finished listening to them. There are so many wonderful and horrible characters . The narration was fantistic. I could listen to her voice all day. She is an amazing storyteller and I think she made a great story even better.

Ended up being a really interesting series!

Narration was excellent. She has a nice tone to her voice, and fits the characters and vibe of the story really well! Quality recording and a great listen.

This is all 3 full length books in the Outliers Saga. Love that they are all together in this set! Book 1 was a bit too depressing, so it was good that I already had the next books and could continue on with the story. I wrote reviews for each book below; this has been an interesting, intriguing adventure with strong characters!

Book 1

I’m going with a 3 rating because the writing is good, the world building is good, and I like Indra. But, I just don’t like reading books like this. I love dystopian type of stories, but this whole book is pretty much just depressing. Indra is an outlier; outliers are pretty much treated like crud and darn close to being slaves to the rich society. Trigger warnings for sexual assault; rape included. The outliers just put up with this for whatever reason; I feel like they do pretty well on their own just hunting and stuff, so I don’t really see why so many want to work for people who treat them so horribly. They are constantly working in fear of being beaten for some perceived wrong doing, strip searched, and groped. This whole book is just about horrible thing after horrible thing happening to Indra and the other outliers. There are pinches of good in the story, but those quickly turn to depressing things. It seems there will come a point in this series when a rising up will take place, but I wish that happened more in this book. I have the audio that includes the next books, so I’ll probably give the next books a go. I’m just not excited about it, but I hope that the story will quickly get into the gross, evil people getting what’s coming to them. So, yeah, the story is interesting, Indra is likable, but I wish there was more hope and happy to this story.

Book 2

I liked this book better than the first book because this one isn't anywhere near as depressing as the first one. Despite the initial stupid decision to return to work for the Sovereigns without a plan to overthrow them, Indra is a strong character, who uses her brains to rise up. Indra and many of the other Outliers are so tired of the Fortis and the Sovereigns treating them like dirt, so with Indra leading the charge, they try to take them down. I did get a bit bored with all of the Outlier politics, but it was interesting to meet some of the other Outlier groups. Also, I liked the conflict for Indra and her feelings for Fortis, Asa. Overall, an entertaining, well-written story. I'm looking forward to reading the finale.

Book 3

Wonderful finale! This one has some of the triggers from the first book, but there’s much more hope in this book. Book 1 was too depressing, but I’m glad I stuck with the series; it’s been an interesting adventure! I liked that we get POV from both Indra and Asa in this book; love their connection. Both are such strong, good-hearted individuals! Asa is trapped in the Sovereign city; the evil Sovereigns put up some electrical force field, so he’s in a very dangerous situation. Indra was attacked at the end of the last book, so she’s trying to deal with that, dealing with how to save Asa, tribe issues, and taking down the Sovereign. Lots of danger and intrigue! Cool series!

Great Read

The Outliers Saga #1-3 (The Outliers) was another great read by Kate L. Mary. This set consists of; Outliers, Uprising, and Retribution. These books follow Indra, Asa, the Sovereign, the Fortis, and the Outliers. These were a great set of books that I enjoyed reading. I can’t wait to read more by the author.

Hard to listen to.

I will try my best to explain what I dislike so much about this book that I'm not finishing it. I stuck it out for 10 hours! It's written like it's a kids picture story book. See Jack run, see Jack fall. Very simple. I think the narrator doesn't help any. It is as if she is learning to read this book out loud in a class room. With the writing style being simple and the reading being elementary it's hard to listen to.
Then there's the story; the whole thing makes no sense; a modern city with a wash machine and a tribe that lives outside of it in huts and we are told over and over again that she is weak, women in her tribe are told they are weak. They live in huts and wear furs but the women are weak and not capable of hunting? Odd. The story could have been good if it was more believable.
Without reading anymore I know what's going to happen.
I won't return it since I listened for 10 hours.
