Publisher's summary

Paul Allen thought the fire had cleansed the orchard.

He was certain the ties with the shadow had been severed.

He was dead wrong.

Ten years have passed since Paul and his family left Red Creek for good. But his daughter Taylor, forbidden to return, rushes to visit her cousin after a young girl vanishes in the oppressed town. They quickly learn that the Smiths’ terrible clutches over the region are still at play, and the shadow is growing stronger. Meanwhile, Detective Tom Bartlett dives head-first into the lore of Red Creek, unsure of what's real and what's an urban legend.

Paul, Taylor, and Tom must fight for the truth, before the curse continues for another generation.

All questions surrounding Red Creek and the mysterious shadow will be answered in this highly anticipated sequel. From best-selling author Nathan Hystad comes a tension-filled thriller you won't want to miss.

Good book, great narration

I loved their first Red Creek. I liked this one. It started out with a serious bang and I thought I was going to love every minute. However, once we hit the middle area it slowed down it's pace a bit and I had some trouble getting through. Of course it did pick back up again and I do recommend it. I just think the first book was a bit better. It didn't have that lull in the middle. The narrator, Will Damron, did a great job. He adds a bit of tension with his tension-filled voice. I definitely feel like he added to the story.

Thriller/horror

OMG! This is a really good book. I don't usually read this type of books but I am glad I picked it up. The author really knows how to write a good suspense with plenty of tension.
I really liked this book because you do not know who would live or die.
Would recommend it to those who love thrillers/horror books

Good and eerie but Family strong

Nathan Hystad has a variety of stories in him, and I have never been disappointed yet in his works in different genres.. The Red Creek series might just be my favorite of all his series so far.

I highly recommend reading the first novel in the series first. Otherwise book two will have too many plot spoilers as it freely talks about the past.

Just a hopefully helpful tip. Oh, meant to add that the Audible version is super !!

Oh, I’ve missed this town.

Hystad brings us back to where it all started. It was nice to get some closure after the previous book, and I truly hope this is not all we hear about Red Creek!
