Publisher's summary

Aspen "Blade" Carlisle is the last of his Delta Force team to find love...and he’s pretty bummed about that fact. Which might explain why he finds himself chatting up a telemarketer as if she’s a long-lost friend. But Wendy is surprisingly easy to talk to, so when they go from occasional calls during her work, to nightly conversations on their cells, it somehow feels right. So right, Blade eventually convinces the funny, sweet woman to meet him in person.

When their first face-to-face meeting gets high-jacked, Wendy Tucker is sure she and Aspen made a big mistake in taking their relationship to the next level. But the man is nothing if not persistent. Before long, Wendy’s allowing the handsome soldier to spend more time with her and Jack, the teen brother she’s raising, than anyone she’s ever dated. Though she knows there are limits to how close she can get to Aspen, no matter how much she likes him. Limits carefully constructed to protect Wendy and Jack from a past they’ve been running from for years.

But dating Blade means having an entire team of Deltas at her back. Which may come in handy not just with Wendy’s past...but also when her brother faces a current threat.

Rescuing Wendy is the eighth book in the Delta Force Heroes series. Each book is a standalone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Swoon...love Blade

Aspen...aka Blade...is enthralled by the woman, Wendi, he has only ‘met’ on the phone, when she called to sell him insurance. They’ve developed a relationship of sorts over the phone and finally decide to meet in person...let’s just say that the meeting didn’t go as expected! There’s not a dull moment in this book! Bullies who are up to no good & Wendi hiding a huge secret; another secret that rips apart the Delta Force team. I could not stop listening until it was over. Great book!!

Go Blade Go!

Susan has a way with words and a way to tell every story. I love Wendy. She’s the perfect person for Blade. It’s obvious from the start that these two are going to set sail on an adventure that will set their path to forever.

Wendy and her younger brother Jackson (Jack) are hiding in plain sight. They’ve been running for years. Wendy has done any and all things she can to try and get them to fly under the radar, yet be able to live comfortably.

When Blade comes into the picture things get heavy, then dicey and all kinds of trouble starts. Not for Wendy, but for Jackson. Bullies start harassing him and his friends at school which leads to a lot of trouble for a lot of people.

The Delta team and their women have to deal with an ultimate betrayal and in the end #OperationFixThisSh*t starts....

This story wasn’t as action packed as most of the others, which I guess is good but I was expecting more I think. More bang if you will. I did enjoy it and as always, I can’t wait for the next book!

Amazing but too short!

Really enjoyed this story; I’m so happy Aspen (blade) finally got his own story. Really wished it could have been longer.

The count down is now on to when Truck and Mary’s story comes out.

Recommended

This story is a little different from most of the other stories in this series. The relationship between Wendy & Blade begins without any life or death drama and progresses naturally. It would seem this story ordinary with the typical bumps and bruises but in fact it is pivotal for the Delta team. You'll just have to listen/read it to find out why.

Favorite one

Susan has over the last couple months become one of my favorite authors. I’ve listened to eagle point…the Hawaii seals and California seals and now the Texas delta force. Blade and Wendy is my favorite so far. I listened in one day. I can’t stop.

Pink ladies vs T birds - high school tiff!

🔴 SIDETRACKED!

OK I really don’t understand what happened with this particular book? Zoinks!
Rescuing Wendy was supposed to be about Blade, a.k.a. Aspen falling in love with Wendy. I was hoping this book would stay in classic stalker form by including heavy adventure, and thrilling moments intertwined with high passion. Unfortunately this story was sidetracked to Wendy’s teen brother Jack and his girlfriend, Jenny. Whaaa???

🧩What does Wendy’s 15 year old brother and his high school girlfriend have anything to do with Blade and the amazing Deltas? I understand her bro is into robotics, but I feel they could have introduced a new arm to “Fish” another way.

🧩The OL' Double Standard!!!
I can’t say I’m a huge fan of Blade. He seems like a really low rent character. He speaks like he just walked out of a biker bar. The language he uses is super vile ...not sexy! His personality seems like that of a teenager not a 31 year old Delta hero! Why is it ok that Blade can't talk about his secret missions but Wendy has to spill her guts??? Just sayin!

🧩I really LIKED Wendy!!! I have no idea why Susan is injecting uneducated females into her lead roles? She could have written Wendy as literally anything! (how bout a nurse!)

🧩The storyline of the two lead characters is completely boring and barely kept my attention. I kept listening, hoping things would pick up. Uhh!

🧩The most excitement is a high school dual between teens …again. this has nothing to do with the deltas, nor do I find this to be compelling or even interesting on any level. I don’t listen to Susan‘s books to hear about children!

🧩This is probably the most ridiculous book out of all the Stoker originals. As a true fan, I must say I was completely thrown and deeply disappointed to say the least.I can’t even say I was really rooting for anybody!

🔶KUDOS to Stella for amazing narrating! YOU ARE FANTASTIC!

🚨The search goes on for the next best Stoker original. -Namaste
