Publisher's Summary

Steve doesn’t care who he was.

He knows more than enough to realize it doesn’t matter at all.

Now living in what had once been the Creeplands and maintaining a thriving farm there, they are under constant siege from the Creep itself.

It's still better than life in Lamals.

And that’s just how it is.

After taking over the Citadel, removing Lynn from her place of power, stopping the Creep’s advance, and starting to take over part of the Creeplands, he was certainly making a difference for himself, humans, and men everywhere.

But with the problems that were close to home eliminated, he now needs to start working on external threats to his personal world. His Citadel and his two farms.

Before he had only concerned himself with what was near and dear to him, but he'd overlooked that others saw him as a resource to be utilized.

Or eliminated.

On top of all of that, it’s becoming clear that he’s rapidly reaching the end of his task. A task he doesn’t truly know or understand, but one that he apparently agreed to when he still had all his memories. A task assigned to him by a merciless voice that clearly thinks little of him.

Family troubles are starting to look like a sweet memory and dream compared to what’s on the horizon for him.

His path could very well lead to the complete collapse of Lamals. At least, if he has anything to say about it.

This time around, however, even his axe may not be up to the job and he’ll have to resort to more drastic measures.

After all, any problem can be solved with the right application of force.

Even a road to hell paved with good intentions.

Right?

One of the worst story I’ve ever gone through this Author

First of all the writing is still top-notch from this Author. The audio performance was again excellent. What I didn’t like was the way the author turned an excellent character and story line into this. This author is one of the few authors that I have found it enjoyable to go through his books multiple times but not this one. This is the one and only time I will probably ever give this book run through, it is too distasteful In my opinion to go through it again.

very downer ending not worth the time.

I feel that the story was not a good fit for what I was expecting when I started it and would have liked a warning about what I was in for when I first started the series.
I think that the voice actor did a marvelous job but the story would not have been something that would have started if I had known how it would end.

Got weird

Honestly the main character got really forceful Halfway through. He just literally rapes anyone who wants to and always have murder sex fantasies about the people he doesn’t like.

What an ending!

I loved this book! The ending was so sad but fit the story. I like how his stories entwine with each other. It keeps things interesting and fun.

Too heavy handed

This one has the great writing but Randi attacks his main character way too hard and breaks the usual feel

from hero tk villain.

Andrea parsneau delivers a great performance again with her great variety of vocals. story I felt was compelling and thought-provoking and I would not recommend it for those looking for a hero story. characters were real nice not very flushed out as there's just so many of them but overall you get a nice little variety of different personalities. pacing of the story felt a little rushed towards the end both end up wrapping nicely enough.

now my personal feelings*spoilers*
I hate Steve I hate what he did to Nikki I hate that Nikki ends up taking Steve back and I hate that he feels like he's justified in everything he does but more than anything I hate Nancy. a lot of my hate for Steve comes from the fact that I really like Steve in book 1 not the smartest of fellows mostly using brutish Force but I related to him quite a bit I don't think I would have done much better than he did in that scenario. so it was kind of devastating seeing him go down the dark path that he does. which leads me to my reason for hating Nancy, I feel she was instrumental in his decision making halfway through book 2 to what he becomes in this book. I might be reading in between the lines but it feels like she purposely broke up his family into two fractions separated Steve from people that would put them on a righteous path and slowly made him into a deprived person that can hurt people for pleasure. Steve from book one until reminded me a lot events from Wild waste and the only real difference I see between the two is Vince didn't have a Nancy to steer him down the path the Steve went or at the very least if there wasn't answering that story or at the very least if there there was a Nancy she didn't last long and near him. in conclusion if this book was made with the intention to justify Steve I don't think it did that at the end of the book I felt that Steve deserve having all the people he loved taken from him I think Randy did a great job and showing us that he can ride a splendid villain and I can't wait to see how this all comes to a conclusion.

Just wow!

This one got me. The story took a turn that really grips your heart. It’s hard not to talk about this book without spoilers. I’ll only say that it is masterfully written and everything tied up just right. Andrea was beautiful, as always, making it effortless to lose yourself in the story. Buy it now and thank me later.

Great book til that changed

Great book, worthy of the series but the massive left turn was annoying and unnecessary
