Publisher's summary

Steve doesn’t care who he was.

He knows more than enough to realize it doesn’t matter at all.

Now living in what had once been the Creeplands and maintaining a thriving farm there, they are under constant siege from the Creep itself.

It's still better than life in Lamals.

And that’s just how it is.

After taking over the Citadel, removing Lynn from her place of power, stopping the Creep’s advance, and starting to take over part of the Creeplands, he was certainly making a difference for himself, humans, and men everywhere.

But with the problems that were close to home eliminated, he now needs to start working on external threats to his personal world. His Citadel and his two farms.

Before he had only concerned himself with what was near and dear to him, but he'd overlooked that others saw him as a resource to be utilized.

Or eliminated.

On top of all of that, it’s becoming clear that he’s rapidly reaching the end of his task. A task he doesn’t truly know or understand, but one that he apparently agreed to when he still had all his memories. A task assigned to him by a merciless voice that clearly thinks little of him.

Family troubles are starting to look like a sweet memory and dream compared to what’s on the horizon for him.

His path could very well lead to the complete collapse of Lamals. At least, if he has anything to say about it.

This time around, however, even his axe may not be up to the job and he’ll have to resort to more drastic measures.

After all, any problem can be solved with the right application of force.

Even a road to hell paved with good intentions.

Right?

answers great questions

another ending to a sovereignverse trilogy that answers questions, leaves more to be answered, and raises even more. this series is a rabbit hole that I'm glad I feel into and I hope continues like this for some time to come

Sad ending

I loved the book but it was a very sad ending a man getting ripped away from his friends and family just by completely finishing his task by zeus I wished they had placed one more book to finish this series up and nacy and them get back to their own world with his kids his 3 son's and Daughter. I really did cry if this was the last book.

warning minor spoilers

so I bought into this book continuing with my interests of the background narrative that started with the first Trilogy other life. I I'm confident in the author's writing abilities that I'm willing to spend time and coin on a book or in this case a Trilogy that I probably wouldn't have rolled the dice on normally. I was hopeful once I discovered thanks to the last book of swing shift that this would be a Redemption story for one of the background narrative villains. as I was going through the story is starting to feel more like a prequel and honestly what it turned out to be was simply a description of how the villain got to the point where he was one of the minor bill. There might be a Redemption coming out for him but again it's probably going to be in the background narrative. I really only know this because apparently there is a bonus epilogues but only available in the compilation or omnibus ebooks. We just definitely on the annoying side that he doesn't do the same thing for the audiobooks but I'm assuming that the bonus epilogue only put in while after the audio books have been finish and the trilogy has been completed. Narrator still doing a great job

Well that was different....

The performance was excellent as always;
Andrea Parsneau is a master story teller.
This book wrapped up the story line well, if not a little disappointedly and depressing. It may take a while to recover from this release before I read or listen to anymore of Randi Darrens books. He has gone to a very Dark Place in his writings.

Probably the best narrator I've ever heard

I've heard convincing voice changes before but it's truly amazing all these characters can come from one person. They're also excellent at either gender.

What an ending!

I loved this book! The ending was so sad but fit the story. I like how his stories entwine with each other. It keeps things interesting and fun.
