Very Different Kind of Character Passion

After my read/audio of a long wait for Nick’s Story, he of all the Siblings after “the Great Disaster @ Fate Ball”. He the Carbon Copy of his gorgeous, amiable Father. Growing up with his Best Friend being Gwyneth, they had been inseparable, sharing all their discoveries, adventures, wants, fears,music & dreams. Winifred, the intrepid delight from our beloved Westcott Series turns up in Ravenswood with her RagTag wondrous parents, special brothers/sisters showing Nick what love, commitment looks like& how his own family circumstance has affected him, his wants/needs. Found this NEVER boring book enlightening, sad(tear worthy), Just as adored these two ended up being, getting there was lots of hard work, arriving there pure Joy!

Mary Balogh knows how to sweep readers into a different time!

I love this series and I hope it will continue. The narration was fabulous. The Cunningham family deserves all the happiness they can get!

It was ok

I was really looking forward to this story but listening to it. There was a lot of moments to where. I had to rewind. it was so hard to focus on it. It was it wasn’t as intriguing as the others. It was very hard to get through it but overall it was ok

Great start...let down by the end

I loved the first half of the book - I was so excited for Winifred's storyline as I love the Wescott series. I was invested in the journey and the pace until about two-thirds through. Instead of building to a satisfying payoff, the book abruptly changes pace and slows down with an unnecessary chapter that drags on and kills the momentum. The lack of intimacy between the leads is also disappointing. Unlike other works by the author, we're not given access to the core vulnerabilities of these characters, which left me feeling disconnected from their relationship.
