Great story, surpassed by history.

Somehow I'm reminded of "The winds of war" and " red storm rising". With the story revolving around the Cole family and the sweeping action of the Pacific theater in a war instigated by the CCP controlled PRC. Many of the core geopolitical plot points are already made impossible by the reality of history, and yet it's still a decent read for military action readers. I enjoyed listening to this in spite of some pet peeves with the plot and some other technical issues. An entertaining read.

Great story but semiconductor details off

I loved the story but wished the editors had brought in someone to proof the details about chip manufacturing. The errors distracted from what was a truly great story.

Geopolitical Thriller!

Author does a great job setting up the technological ties and their economical impacts that sets off the war ahead - by that point you’re bought in on everything. Great book!

Great story. Scary possibilities. Almost too realistic. Characters well done. Kept me on edge of my seat

Modern red storm rising

Five stars if you get ray porter to narrate the next book, all of the naval combat was fantastic. Some of the FJ elements can take you out of it but for the most part I thought it was great

Scary that this could become reality

Love these geopolitical thrillers. China will eventually need to be dealt with. This might be a scenario that starts the process.
The narrator isn’t great. Sweet deep voices are good for radio and television, bad for reading books. His characters sound like robots, and all sound the same.

Great story, very cleaver and a lot of great lessons learned for the US military. One of my favorites.

it took a while for the story to build up but once it begAN to take off I couldn't stop listening. a great story for today's times.
