Publisher's summary

Rule Breaker. Troublemaker. Heart Taker.

Needs him like oxygen.

Dany has so many secrets. He’s not on the island by accident, he’s not a nice guy, and he’s using a fake name. He's laying low, but he must have been born under a bad sign, because the very man he’s hiding from walks back into his life.

A new life in a new town seemed like the right decision for Soren. Discovering Dany living on Piedras brings back all the feelings he's tried to forget.

Too bad Dany is just as compelling as he ever was.

Two men from opposite sides of the law: Can they set aside their differences and trust their hearts?

Real Trouble is set in the Veiled Intentions world. Soren and Dany first appear in the Shielded Hearts series (When It Rains). Real Trouble can be listened to as a stand-alone, is dual-POV following our heroes as they fight their way to their HEA, and is the first in the new West Coast Forensics series.

Fabulous performance and story

I was given a free audio copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review.

This is a spinoff from the Veiled Intentions series but can be read as a standalone. I loved the other series and had rated it 5 stars also but I liked this one even more. Even though this book is still murder mystery focused like the other series was, this couple was steamier than the couple in Veiled Intentions. You definitely don't have to wait long to feel the sparks flying between these 2. They had fantastic chemistry and there were plenty of steamy scenes. I thought that the story was well written and it definitely kept my interest from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this. I can't wait for more.

Michael Dean is one of my favorite Narrators and this was no exception. He brought the story to life. He expressed all the emotions so well and did all the characters voices. It was a pleasure to listen to.

Enjoyed!

Soren and Dany have a past that catches up with them as they stumble into each other once again.
The ups and downs of this "reunion" are many. I enjoyed seeing them reconnect and grow their relationship into something solid.
Real Trouble is a good second chance romance with lots of steamy chemistry! I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
As always, Michael Dean does a top notch job of bringing this story to life.

Great Start to a new Series

Deputy Soren Jorgensen has relocated from Skagit, to start over and forget a failed relationship that never really got started. Danylo “Dany” Petyr aka Danny Peters is trying to build a new life on Piedras Island. Dany and Soren have an immediate connection and amazing chemistry. This story is a great suspenseful romance. Can’t wait for the next book in this series. I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review.

Hot guys and interesting story

I loved "Veiled Intensions" series and I knew I'd love this story as well. Elle Keaton writes awesome books. Always.

This is a start of a new series and even though it can be read as a standalone I think anyone who didn't read Veiled intensions would be seriously confused about characters and Piedras in general. The story dives right into the middle of drama and Piedras police department.
The story is fast paced and kept me wondering both about Soren and Dany's past (and future) AND possible arson. It is well written, full of interesting characters. I really felt like I was in the middle of a police investigation, like I was a part of it. It is a double POV which made the whole experience so much better.

This is a crime story first of all, but similarly to previous books, relationship between MCs is very important here and has a huge influence on Soren and the investigation. I liked Dany and Soren, even though Dany WAS a little bit more dramatic than I normally like. The fact that MCs had a past together made there insta-lust believable. The attraction between them was scorching HOT!

I LOVED the narrator here! Michael Dean made a WONDERFUL work, characters sound exactly how I imagined they would (apart from Birdie). Normally I prefer normal ebooks, but more audiobooks like this one and I might change my mind :)

Soren and Dany

I loved Elle Keaton’s previous series Veiled Intentions which is also set on Piedras and starred Mat and Niall, I was looking forward to new series West Coast Forensics.
It follows new Deputy Soren Jorgensen working hard whilst his boss Sheriff Dempsey is away on Honeymoon. He meets up with his ex, Dany, who has recently moved to the island. When a fire at the Resort draws the Deputy to investigate the fire imagine walking in to find the new Chef, is an Ex that left you shoot and in the hospital. With the suspense of Murders, Fires and mystery growing the 2 men are thrown together, and a beautiful love affair begins, was great catching up with old favorites.
