Great story line

Really enjoyed the story line and the characters. One of the top I have listened too.

Small town rivalry meets second chance romance!

JT Wellbridge and Flynn Honeycutt grew up together in their small town of Honeybridge where their families have maintained a feud for generations. Before this book, they had a one night stand together that ended in heartbreak for everyone involved, and they hadn't seen one another since. When JT's boss sends him back home to convince Flynn to let their company partner with his successful mead business, the two are forced together and sparks fly again.
This book had a lot of character growth for both of these characters. Flynn had to learn to trust JT again and accept help from those around him with his business. He had always been that kid who had to be responsible for his siblings, and I think JT, his siblings, and the people who work for him really propelled him into realizing he didn't have to have the world on his shoulders; others were willing to be there for him. JT also had to learn that he could be his own person and he wasn't just the Wellbridge name; he could pursue work he actually wanted to do and help people.
I really loved this small town setting. It was so atmospheric and I felt like I knew all the people they would interact with in my own life. I think the setting really influenced my love of this book, along with the characters of course, but something about the way this family feud and how the people in this community would joke about how JT and Flynn have clearly been obsessed with one another from day one really hit the mark for me.
These two really were grade A with the witty banter. The way they would tease one another and how everyone around them kind of just accepted it as normal behavior for these two was so funny to me. I loved hearing all the stories from their past of how they made each others lives inconvenient as a clear form of flirting for them. I just liked when they talked to each other and it truly felt like all the history together made them getting together seem inevitable. These two men have been intertwined their entire lives, but it wasn't until now that they finally got the opportunity to be something real.
I can't wait to read more books in this series, and I am super excited to see what happens for other characters in these various families!

if you like Lucy Lennox and May Archer writing style you will absolutely love this book and what a great story.

Une histoire pleine de rebondissements, de caractère mais aussi de tendresse. Elles pensent comme toujours à bien développer leurs personnages pour que la psychologie de chacun soit au plus près de la réalité avec toute la complexité que cela impose.
La narration de Michael Dean est parfaite, comme d'habitude c'est un plaisir de l'écouter.

First, Michael Dean is outstanding- I will buy all the books he reads. I am totally in love with this guy !!!

The book makes you feel good even when you want to kill JT.

Finally getting your heart’s desire

I loved JT (Frog) and Flynn’s (Firecracker) enemies to lovers, lifelong rivalry, second chance romance with a side of lifelong family feud. In my opinion for an enemies to lovers story to work, the author has to straddle a fine line of sexy animosity without tipping into meanness or abuse. This was done perfectly with Frog and Firecracker’s story. JT works for an alcohol distributor and is known as the rainmaker. Flynn owns and runs his family’s tavern and meadery. JT and Flynnn grew up together in small town Honeybridge with feuding families and constant rivalry. When JT’s company wants to purchase distribution rights for Flynn’s mead, old hurts and long repressed feelings can no longer be ignored. On the way to their HEA, JT and Flynnn has to unpack awhile trunk loads of baggage and it’s an emotional journey for all of us. They are portrayed beautifully as real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really trying to just do their best as incredibly messy humans. This book will definitely give you all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering. The story included sweet moments, steamy scenes, laugh out loud moments, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, and all the heart squeezing love. I am in love with Honeybridge and all the new characters. I am excited to read more stories in this quirky fun town.

I love Michael Dean’s narrations. As always, he did a phenomenal job narrating the story and breathing life into the characters with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

These two are a cute starting to a new series. Loved the snark and bitting. Really enjoyed the side characters also. Good story line. I enjoy the 2nd chance troupe.
